F150 Gas Milage

To anybody thinking about buying a F150,

thought i would post some real world number on my gas milage for this year for my:

I averaged 16.8-16.9 MPG over the course of the year with my mixed driving including towing my tralier. Not too shabby!
I also drive a 2003 v6(4.2) 4x4 5spd long bed and put about 13-14K on it this year. It seems to get about 1 MPG better but i didnt collect the data for it.

Thanks for the data. Wish similar info could be found for all 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton PUs.

I have a 1999 f150 4x4 manual with the same engine.
I get 16-18 mpg. A lot depends on your driving style. Don't speed, accelerate up hills and plan your stops for the best mpg.

It would take me awhile to put together, but I have all of the data for all 3 of my vehicles. I have a notebook in each of my vehicles that I record the date, mileage, the $ amount, and the number of gallons put in. I've done it for all of my vehicles since my '91 S/10 when I bought it new, though I don't have any of those records any more. So I could provide it for our 2000 Accord since I purchased it in Feb. 08 w/ 71k on it, my '99 Silverado that I bought new, and our '08 Suburban that we bought new back in December.

My 96 Dodge
Will get 14 mpg at a gross load of 24000 pounds over 3500 miles
Does 18 mpg with camper and driving 110 kph.
Does 24 mpg with camper and driving 80kph.
Does 26 mpg driving empty.

I thought my dad was the only one who did that. I do check every time i fill up but don't write it down.

I had a 2007 F-150 4x4 SuperCrew 5.4 L that I got rid of in May. It average 15.5 over its life. I had 3.73 gears where you have 3.55 so that make up the difference.

Sounds like we are right on par with each other.

Imperial Gallons?

My 06 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi has never gotten more than 10.9 l/100km (~ 21 mpg US gal) with me alone in the truck. But I have never kept detailed records.

I am sure he is talking Diesel. I get 24 mpg in my F-350 on the highway and 17 around town. Towing 15,600# trailer it will still do 16. I drive my diesels by the tach keeping it in the sweet rpm spot.

Very impressive mileage on that F350. Is that diesel engine stock or modified?
