After one season with the front mounted snowthrower on my GC2310 I think they could be more efficent. The control switches are mounted below the inst. cluster. My idea would be to mount a joystick type stick/switch that would be within thumb reach of the raise/lower control arm. You would have all your snowthrower controls in one spot. I'm still in the planning stage but has anyone already done this?

My switches are at the top of the "dash," right & left sides, and aren't bad to reach while blowing... perhaps a simpler option?

(Only problem is that they sometimes get covered with blown snow!:D)

I work at a manufacturing company so simpler isn't a problem. I find myself adjusting the thrower/rotation/deflection frequently and would like to keep my hand in one spot vice shifting back and forth. I am also working on plans for a cab setup with lights and removeable doors. I was really frustrated when I found out they didn't make a cab for the 2310. I hate the blowback while throwing snow.

After reading your post about a switch,I'll throw in my two cents worth. You can buy a cheap little switch that looks like a small joy stick. It actually is a momentary switch so that the little lever always returns back to the center. So left and right are only activated so long as you push the little stick either way.Now my way of thinking is that you could always mount the switch onto your loader joy stick and just with a simple clamp on system and use your thumb to push the little switches lever either way.I think it would be quite easy and very effective.I've used a switch like this to control a 1000 winch that I used on a small lawn tractor that my little grandson liked to use to plough snow with.I needed to do this as he wasn't able to lift the blade up as he was out helping me plough snow at 4 years old.Now were into bigger and better stuff. So its a thought that you can think about. After reading your thread about this I'am sure this is what I'll do if I decide to turn my blower into a electric chute turner.I've even thought that I might use that little electric winch to turn the chute as well. Some times these little winches come on sale for under $100 so it would be a easy and cheap way to do that.As always Larry.

take a look at the cab I made for my gc2300 out of 1x1 tubing and lexan its got 2 doors and both are removable plus a full sized back window that opens like the bigger tractors and all of them are removable just by pulling out 2 pins. The cab is also hindged at the back roll bar mounts and flips right over onto saw horses and 2 more pins and its off.Everthing I usually make has to be simple and easy to put on and take off.As always Larry.

Pretty much the setup I had been thinking about. I tend to think about things for quite awhile before I get around to doing them. I have to have it all thought out before I start. I hadn't found this forum when I bought the tractor so paid MF prices for the chute deflector and rotater. I saw a post where someone had built their own much cheaper and looked like the factory setup. Thanks Larry

I'd really like to see some pictures of your cab. I work at ISCO/Tubeshark so have access to a great bender. Do you have a link to the pictures? Thanks Larry
