JD 2210
I've been asked what "Santa" would like to bring me this year and I told both sides of the family to chip in on a landscape rake for my JD 2210. Since it has a limited cat 1, I've been looking at a Woods LRC60 and the Frontier LR2060L. Does any other manufacturer make a limited cat 1 rake? Comments, complaints, suggestions? Thanks!

I have the Bush Hog LRC60 model for my BX23. Works very well for the limited cat1 hitch. The only problem I had is that when I bought them, I was told that gauge wheels weren't available, but were going to become available. As far as I know, they still are not available for that model. I had to make up my own from parts from another manufacturer of landscape rakes. The casters are from yet a third manufacturer. So if it is just the rake you want, then the Bush Hog would be a perfect match for you. But if you are looking for one with gauge wheels, and I would highly recommend them by the way, then make sure you ask the dealer to guarantee they are available.

Just checked Bush Hog's website to see if gauge wheels were available yet. They are not. But I did notice the the Bush Hog model number is now a CLR60. Interesting that the Woods model is now a LRC60. Must have been some naming rights being stepped on when I bought mine.

Nice job on adding your own gauge wheels! I guess now though the wheel brackets prevent you from turning the rake around 180 degrees? That is probably not an issue for you, but may be for some folks.

Thanks. It took awhile to find all the right parts, but in the end it works. You are correct. You cannot rotate the rake 180 degrees, without removing the braces. There are only two bolts holding each one, so it isn't all that bad of job if you need to. But I have never had a need turn the rake around backwards. I mainly use if for maintaining my crushed rock driveway. The wheels really make this a whole different tool. No more wash board driveway.

Landpride makes an 05 series of implements for limited Cat 1, King Cutter makes their XB series, and TSC has the Country line of products as well as the Woods that you mentioned. I'm guessing there are others as well. Linebech perhaps?

Tractor Supply sells a 5' rake.

Probably not as tough as a Woods but, for residential use I bet it would suffice.

TS=less $$$.

Thanks for the replies! My Woods dealer also sells the Bush Hog rakes. As stated, they do not offer the guage wheels for them. I looked on the Landpride website and saw the 05 series, but I thought it said it was a cat 1 with the option of making it a cat 0 spacing. There's a dealer about 40 min. from me, so I may take a ride to see them.

Anybody use the Frontier rakes? They seem similar to the Woods, but a little more $$.

I saw the 15 series on Landpride's website and also was impressed with the quality. How does it work with your bx24, especially the lift height?

i have had no problems with lift height. i dont recall how high it goes exactly but its enough to never have an issue. a big factor in that though is how the top link is set. there are 2 pin holes for the top link so if you have it in the bottom hole with the link all the way out then its possible it will be too low but who runs it like that anyway. i have had no problems using the rake either. its a really beefy unit. i have backed into trees with it hitting it full force on the tines and they spring right back.
