what about the 2210(not the D model). it has the powershifter on it

I have a 2wd YM2210 and love it, I do not have a loader but 2WD does everything I need, I think it would take some pretty wet land to get it stuck. The 2210 is a 2 cyl, but I like it better then my 3 cyl YM2001.

I thought you wanted a 27-35 ish HP machine, if so the 2210 falls short.

If I ever get the chance to upgrade I'll go with a YM2610, it sits on a larger frame all around then the 2210 or 2310

I use a JD5103 2wd with a FEL Bi weekly never had a need for 4wd. I have a ym2000 2wd that if I feel I needed a FEL I would not think twice about it. I am from the WV. mountains and that is the only place I have ever had to use 4wd on the hills and snow.I have just aquired my grandfathers 8n 2wd with a FEL and he still got by in the mountains with for years and its in fantastic shape.IMOP 4wd just helps in the operator error.

2 wd is about like going from Color TV back to B&W Tv.

We had a 12" black & white tv for 20 years before we got a color one and we enjoyed it a lot. Maybe a 52" plasma stereo HD is better but there is a time and place for everything.

My 2wd Yanmar 1802 can do an awful lot of work and is very hard to get stuck. Of course some people would say a 2wd pick up truck is useless.

thanks for the responses guys.

i thought that the 2210 was 26 or 26.5HP...that's close enough for me. i don't really think that 4wd will be too necessary for me. i borrowed a friends mahindra to cut our place 2 weeks ago, and we had had a VERY wet last few weeks, and it never gave me any trouble.

The 2210 can do a lot of work, I am not convinced 4WD is worth the extra $, unless you have VERY steep muddy hills or plan to use it like a ATV.

I believe "some" front end parts for the 4WD Yanmars can be hard to find, I know I read that on here at some point, anyone?

If you ever plan to install a FEL or use any ground engaging imlements, box blade, plow, disc, etc. you will wish you had 4wd, even though it is something else to break, with expensive, and sometimes hard to find parts. Used to be, a lot of dealers would not sell or install a FEL on a 2wd tractor.

I would not say re- conditioned.. That is a broad statment..Most are just freshened up. Replace what needs to be replaced/painted, etc

That's what "reconditioning" is, to restore to operating condition. Sometimes, with only an inspection and testing, nothing need be done. It is neither overhauling nor rebuilding.
