Quick Attach Plate

   / Quick Attach Plate #11
I went to the John Deere dealer last week to ask about attachments of my older JD tractor (1980 Model 2240). The dealer told me that they don't make attachments for that tractor and FEL (Model 145) any more. I asked for information about QD attachments for a tractor approx the same size and what it would take to build a QD for my FEL. He told me that I would be better waiting until next year because JD was changing their QD in 2010 to a Skidsteer style mount.

Does anyone have any info about this?

Do a search on "quick attach adapter" and I think you can find one. There are several companies that make them. I looked a year or so ago,if I had saved them I would have posted the links.

Are they all the same functionally, or are there differences I need to be aware of?
IE: Larger and smaller sizes for different size machines, different means of attachment by brand, etc.

Also, how do I know the difference between the piece wich mounts to the FEL and the piece which you would use to build an attachment?

the peice that is always attached to the loader arms is the "machine side"
the peice that is always part of the attachment is the "attachment side"

they *should* be all the same, and i have yet to see one that is different. it is an industry standard on modern machines. i seem to remember loading an older gehl skid steer on my lowboy that was different, but same idea. Anything described as "universal skid steer attachment plate" is going to work.

as for size difference, the little walk-behind bobcat MT series mini track loaders use an identical, but smaller system. exact same idea, just the plate isnt as wide or tall, b/c the machine is so much smaller. they do not interchange w/ the larger machines

Wrong side. I'm looking for the machine side to adapt onto an old JD 145 FEL.

Dcyrils,
I'm scouting bobcat salvage places and repair shops to find a machine side 'Quick Tac' plate I can use to make an adaptor. I've got a Bro-in-law in East Tx that works in a repair shop and he tells me he sees one every once & awhile. They seem to be difficult to come across used. I priced a new one at $450 in town.
Good luck with your search,
Rgds,
tim

The first one I found was all ready to bolt on to my 2240, but they wanted almost $2K. I thought that seemed a little high and kept looking. I've found two places selling the ones you adapt to your machine yourself for $499. Thought that seemed much more reasonable.
