Ditto on above!

We are dealers for both Branson and Mahindra, and you would be hard pressed to find many Montana parts that are common to the current lines for these tractors.

However, I'd still not worry about Montana parts. They will be readily available I believe either through Montana or LS or others. Going forward with the Kukje Montana's, you'll have either Montana or Branson to go to for parts.

If your dealer is committed to the brand and not the kind that switches brands every year or two, then I wouldn't worry.

I exchanged e-mails with someone from LS Tractors yesterday and he said LS would supply parts for Montana tractors through Montana dealers or through LS. Of course, he said he thought an LS tractor would be a better purchase. Montanas have the better pricing at the moment, though. LS the better warranty.

Thanks for all the input.

dave that is the info my dealer gave me 2 weeks ago the montanas will be red until all of the red parts are gone. he is also a branson dealer and didn't say anything about branson's not being built anymore. he also talked with ls and will be selling the ls line of tractors as well as montana, branson, and tym.

Regardless of the paint, the underlying new Montanas will be Kukje.
(MANY) Parts will be interchangeable with existing Bransons, Centurys and SOME JDs.
Most of this is importer emblem engineering.
Yanmar, Cummins, Mitsubishi, Subaru engines also appear in several other brands.

The rosetta stone will be a handy thing to have.

From what I understand, Montana has so far purchased less than 10 tractors from Kukje, which are basically the units at the shows. While your dealer may understand it as described, my sources are less confident that we are ever going to see green Kukje Montana's, and I'm not so sure we will even see many red ones.

However, if we put all the rumors together that we often hear regarding this brand and that brand, it would fill volumes of books. Let's just see what happens.

Can someone help me understand the reported declining number of Montana dealers? Is the company difficult to work with? Is it the consensus that the Montana doesn't have a future? I have heard only good reports about the machine and am having difficulty understanding the dealer issue.

would not be concerned about montana no matter who makes the machine some one will be around to look at it with ls dealers popping up and current branson dealers out there there is no real need to worry. dave i do have to say that he does not have any of the red montana's there only the limited one's, which would go along with you low # of units. unless i had the need for a bigger machine i would not swap my montana for any other brand, the dealer has been good and so was montana. i had a possible pto issue this summer and it turned out to be adjustment indside the case but montana had sent the parts to the dealer for replacement if needed no questions asked. i think the future is bright for montana and this move will someday show that it was a wise decision, i think montana is trying to get a bigger piece of the pie.

I agree with Haunted Branch. I think the quality of the Montana dealers in my state (Texas) is deteriorating. The two within 100 miles of my area are gone.

It's a tough time to be a fairly new tractor brand, especially one that doesn't actually build any of their own tractors. While it is extremely common to outsource some of the models, Montana outsources them all, leaving them vulnerable. Montana has sold good tractors in the past and I would not worry about parts availability. If the Kukje deal pans out and they buy units from Branson, I'd not worry about that either. Montana did a fantastic job building brand recognition and selling good tractors. Now they need there best dealers to help them move aged inventory and to get things flowing again. If they can get over this hump, they should be in it for the long haul.

I have a landtrac 330HST with fel. I was wanting to up grade to about a 40 hp,or more. I have looked at all the main tractors almost jumped on a Kubota L4400HST,but the cost was almost $24000.00,and they would not take my 330 in on trade. I talked to a local Montana dealer,he has a R4944 HST fel R-4 tires, quick release bucket, for $14000.00 after rebates and allowing me $9000.00 on my 330. That's my tractor and $14000.00 out the door. I can not find an LS dealer close, there may be one just do not know of any. Also this week in the farm paper a dealer is selling brand new Landtracs at 40% off. He has a 390hst with loader for $14995.00 and will give me $7000.00 for my 330.That would be $8000.00 and my tractor. The 330 and 390 share the same frame, the 330 has the 3 cyl. Daewong and the 390 has the 4 cyl. Mitsibishi. Both the Montana and 390 are LS or LG's. I should be able to get parts for both through Montana or LS. I am leaning towards the R4944,because of the 47 HP,and a lot of features not on other tractors. I would buy the Kubota but selling my 330 does not look good. It has 465 hours on it but watching the local papers, auctions and ebay,it seems like 3500.00 is about all its worth. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Is the 47 HP to much power for that 4944 frame, will it hold up?
