Great Site! I have been reading for a while and lhave earned quite a bit. I am in need of haying equipment for a lower horsepower tractor (35). Ideally, I am looking for an older baler, NH65 or JD14T and rake. I will be using my rotoray cutter til I can afford a drum mower. Because of travel freight costs to move equipment across the country, I am looking for these items here in Texas or neighboring states. Thanks....

Thanks for that. I will look them up. Yep, I hear NH is the way to go, but it's hard to find those small old balers around here. I'll keep trying as I have a while til' spring.

NH makes good balers, but there are other balers just as good made by JD and Massey Ferguson. My baler is a MF-124 small square baler.

The knotters are a fairly simple in design and pretty reliable.

Yes, I know as I have been following your posts and other members' for a while. (You guys are a wealth of information and is much appreciated). I am keeping an eye out for the following: JD14T, NH65, Massey's 10, 12 & 124's close to my Home State of Texas. I am limited to 35HP Ford 2000 and so my options for haying equipment is limited. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

That 2000 should also handle a NH 268, 269, or 273.

I think I found what I need. Thanks for your help in narrowing the search. I am getting a functional MF124 and JD 350 Rake from a local guy. Knotters seems to have been replaced a couple of seasons ago and the machine looks in good shape. Now, I am on the hunt for the Operator's manual for it just to make sure I run through it and give it some preventive maintenance before the season starts. The baler I will be getting is posted below and the rake is not the actual one but one just like it.
