Selling my BX2230

Oooops. That BX24 only hit 10,200. Hmmm.... A little short of $12K. Now let's see what happens to the BX1500. :) Only 7 more hours.

But, it has been relisted with a "buy it now" at $12,900. Let's see what happens. You won the battle but not the war!:D

It's neither a battle nor a war, just gentlemen playing a game of watching and wondering.:D

The OP will want to follow such things, imo, for a month or two, as the time approaches for his own sale. Call it the economy, blame it on zero financing, whatever, but cuts and scuts and such are simply not attracting the bids nor the prices that they deserve. The market is soft, no make that mush.

If someone must sell their iron now, he's likely going to take a serious beating to move it. I have been monitoring ebay for months now and have watched the prices stall, well below what they should be. I gotta believe spring time will show an improvement somewhat.

Anyone considering selling their tractor may want to consider advertising on Kijiji in Canada and, if possible, offer to deliver to the border if you are not too far from it. A BX24 TLB would sell in an afternoon around here for $10,000 USD if it were ever offered at that price.

Well, that BX1500 ended at $5100, thus I "won" both gentleman's wagers quite handily.:):) No gloating. Actually it was pretty predictable.

To be fair, I have been tracking these things pretty closely for a couple months and can just about predict the ending bids within a few bucks. Again, I suggest the OP do the same to gauge a selling price level.

This is gonna turn around. When people think spring and when they realize they can save money buying used, perhaps the prices will once again reflect some reality. Until then, if I guy can hang on to his tractor, do it. At these prices, it isn't reasonable to just give them away.

The wife and I have decided to move into town. I would like to sell my BX2230 and would like to get your advice on what I should ask.

IMHO I would wait to sell it because you may get a house with a large lot and you could stilluse your tractor. As for your implements they could be sold individually and at a good price at that. I wouldn't rush into anything until you know exactly what you will be having to do at the new place. Besides the old girl needs a good home too!!
Good luck Billy

Thanks for the input gentlemen. I don't even want to put it up for sale until our place sells. I have to have something to mow with :). But, when/if the time comes, I would likely want to sell it quickly. That said, I don't want to give it away either.

Where do you live in central IL if I may ask?

Ebay auction prices are not a true price setter. Buying something unseen requires a cheaper deal than a face to face. At least it does for me.

True. However, some of those Ebay items are seen, with eyes on. Also, it is very hard to know what the Craig's items bring because only the asking price is revealed, not the final selling price, or if they sold at all. Still, such things are some kind of gauge of current public or general interest?

Price depends on lots of factors. If it looks like new you can easily get $8K to $9K with the implements. If it's rough looking then $6K to $7K...
