How Far up 89 did you come?

Tom in Vermont

Right pass St. Albans and then we went over to New York.. During the summer we make the trip often on our way to our summer place. Weather south of Burlington was a bit wintery and slow traffic.

Yes the weather can be bad between Randolph and Waterbury. About mid way between exits 19 and 20 just before the sweeping turn if you look to the east thats our barn you see.

Tom that is some nice country up your way. We spend a fair amount of time in New York each year and for a number of years would take the ferry to Plattsburg, but with the cost of it these days it is just as cheap to go over the bridge and the time is about the same.

I expected to see more snow up there? I will be looking for the barn next time we go by.

Good Evenin Guys,
Here is one pic of what they do with window frames along the coast, a bit of a nautical flair...

And for JB, here is a 300 year old house, and of course the thing that fascinates me is some of the original windows ! You can easily tell the difference between then and now ... ;)

Single pane and no storms, bet they're burning some oil :)

Looks like a house right out of Old Wethersfield.

Wow, the Saw Mill house has tons of authentic character. Looks like the mill raceway/pflume is still under it. Can you see a water wheel?
Dave.

Good Evenin Dave,
Some updated shots of the sawmill house under carriage ! ;):)

Hi Scott,

Thanks. I bet it would be peaceful to hear the water. Now that I see that end of the building, I wonder if somewhere along the line somebody re-faced it with veneer stone? Don't see any lintels above the slider and windows.

I bet this weather is keeping you on the move making deliveries. We've been running 8-10 degrees below normal for two weeks now. 7* now at 8:50pm and never went above 25* today.

Do some of the fancy houses you posted pics of face Long Island Sound?

Be safe out there.
Dave.

Good Evenin Dave,
I apologize for the long delay but last week was real busy and I went up to my Vt place this past weekend... no snow there !

Most all the houses face the water, and even most of the homes on the other side of the street do also !

A few interesting shots from the past few days...

Some different architecture for sure, no money problems here...

A lighthouse tower in pic #1 - that's cool.

We don't have any snow here either, just a dirty crust about 6-8 inches deep. Got some on the way for Tuesday. Should freshen things up. :D
