I am the owner of one of the recalled Toyota Camry's (non hybrid, 2.4L, 4 cylinder, automatic) and I trained all in the house that may drive the car on how to deal with a stuck to the floor throttle. I tested the car full throttle to the floor at 70 MPH and the brakes easily over came the engine to bring it to a full stop with the throttle on the floor. I then showed all how to put the car into neutral. I then showed them how to shut the engine down without locking the steering. I had each of them go through the paces a few times (except bringing the car to a full stop from 70 MPH I thought this may warp the rotors from overheating). I could see a person trying to stop a full throttle auto fanning the brakes to try to control the speed and overheating the brakes and then you would have a problem because they would not work well. With the brakes overheated the brakes may not stop the car with the throttle stuck. Just my thoughts.
