I've been thinking about putting a windshield on my RTV 500. I was wondering after you had put one on for awhile was it worthwhile? Does the windshield tend to scratch up or freeze up when riding in the winter?

I don't want to put any accessories on there that will be more of a pain than they are worth. I live in Maine so 3 months of the year there's snow and ice if that makes a difference.

I like mine. I've beat the brush with it and it hasn't scratched. We didn't have much snow this winter so I was able to drive it all season and can't say I had a problem with frost. Windshield wipers would be nice. I think Kubota offers them as an option. I keep a squeegee in the glove box for now.

Upper windshield is glass..No problem there. Lower is poly..Scratches like crazy.

If you do put a ws on it, you'll want a back glass too..negative pressure sucks all the dust into the interior.

I would recommend it in a minute.

Do you guys have the factory glass? I was considering going aftermarket, I can't justify the nearly $1k for the factory windshield:(

Mine's factory and it was in the $300 range.

Roof and windshield from Kubota was somewhere around $650.

Sweet they must make more than one, the one I priced out was $975 and that didn't include the mount kit, it was part of the modular cab system I think. I already have the $300 piece of plastic they call a roof so I just need to snag the windshield and some sort of back window now:D

dont underestimate the need for the lower piece of the front windshield as well. You will need it.

For the back, i bought some rubberized p clamps online and intend to use a piece of plexiglass for it. ($20 vs $100-$200..)

I bought some clear vinyl online, cut it to fit, put some grommets in it and used velcro straps to install it.
