I knew some place would have some common sense laws!

I need to consider moving to Texas. Around here if you did that you are guaranteed a ride to jail and will need to prove that it was done in self-defence.

I like states with solid self defense laws that assume innocence until proven otherwise. so far florida has stepepd up pretty good with expanded castle.. IE.. if you are in a place you are legally allowed to be and ar met with a threat.. you don't have to try to retreat, and can meet force with force.. IIRC, you can't be civilly sued by the criminal perp either..

If you guys are serious about killing people with guns and ropes ,and not just flexing your internet muscles, you might think twice about posting your intentions on the internet. Could you be setting yourself up for murder one if something were to happen and you really needed to defend yourself ?

Thievery needs a "negative motive" , a deterrent that will make thieves think twice before taking the risk. A judge or jury needs to "make an example" of them, by very harsh sentences. But, for more impact, being shot in the act would act as a serious deterrent. Particularly if the state agreed with the landowner. You could certainly count on the press to distribute that kind of news....
I had a tlb stolen in 2006....along with a F350, truck camper, my favorite chainsaw, $$cash$$ etc. Parked in a hotel parking lot in Seattle. Broke into the truck and drove the whole thing away. Found the truck 3 days later, gutted. Found the trailer 1 year later. Tractor & other stuff.....gone.....

Move to Texas. Legal to shoot someone on your property after dark to prevent the consequences of theft.

Oklahoma has the three 'S' rules:

Shoot
Shovel
Shutup

JC:laughing:

I believe Indiana is another state, where you can shoot on premise if you feel your life is threatened.

Soundguy, your beliefs are pretty mild compared to my way of thinking. I've been told I have a rather deviant mind.

Drug sellers after conviction comes execution. Might use the three strikes method.

Drug users. Three strikes and you're out. Executed.

Speeding tickets would be $5000 and they would garnish wages.
This comes from someone who almost always runs 9 mph over the posted, but with a $5000 fine looming over my head I would be running posted or a little below.

I could go on for hours.

Well the 5K speeding tickets would sure make the lawyers happy, cause everybody would be in court!
But, I agree with the concept Wedge is saying. I've heard of some countries, if you were caught lying, your tongue is cut out. Stealing, your hand is cut off. Rapists....well you get the point. Don't know if it still goes on, but I'm guessing very effective crime reducer.
I like the 3 strike rule as well. More than enough chances.
I always wondered....if you made an execution public, broadcast on TV, how many people would watch and what that would do to crime statistics.....

Picture dirving into town and having a police officer step out in front of you and stop traffic while a thief is drug out into the center of the road and has his hand brutally chopped off right there in front of you and everyone else for stealing. Very quickly, the penalties of stealing become very real. On TV you have the option of not watching and are desensitized by the not real things which we watch. If it is done in public, in front of anyone present, it becomes very real. I have no doubt that crime rates are lower in countries which use these tactics. Many of these areas have a curtain over the doorway instead of doors, yet alone locks. Theft in not a major concern.

I've always said that next time we have one of those "Record Drug Bust" the police,FBI, CIA . . . should lace it with cyanide and sell it on the streets. 1 it would bring in money to pay off the National Debt. 2. would make any drug user go straight over night as they wouldn't know if their next fix would kill them. 3 open up new jobs (all the drug heads that have dyed) i could go on and on about how i think this would help but you get the pic.
and on a side note, to stop the illegal border crossing i say the heck with a fence. but up a 30' tower every 500 yrds on the border. in every tower would be an officer with a rifle and posted every 50' along the border would be a sign "in English" if you cross this sign you will be shot. . . shoot one or two and problem solved, after a month or two you could have a man in every other tower as they would be to scared to cross.
Maybe i'm a little nuts but i think its time to think out side the box

Oh but these are people and you have to give them a chance..... and another and another. Thats why there is so much crime. No one really gets just punishment for the severity of the crime. Rape, Gang assault as examples. But oh man, don't go 10 MPH over the limit and you feel like a real criminal with the fines and court time etc... Why even have locks on your doors if everyone has the right to come in your home and all you can do is watch???
