Tractor
kubota B7800, Kubota T1570
Took the fel off of the B7800 today to mow. While putting it back on the tractor, curled the bucket to get the lower pins on the tractor engage the loader frame. Saw that it was hung up, not allowing the loader frame to set on the pins, so I grab the cross bar on the loader, give it a little jiggle, and the loader fell right into place, with the knuckle of my ring finger smashed between the cross bar and a quick disconnect. Had to use my free hand to lift the loader enough to release my finger. Lots of missing skin, lots of blood, lots of swelling, and I think I broke my knuckle. Glad I don't have one of those wives that insist I wear a wedding band, or I would be really up the creek. Couldn't even cuss because my little girl was 20 feet away with her jump rope. Having an appointment with Dr. Jim Beam right now.

Man, that sounds painful. Glad you were able to get out of it on your own.

Ouch, that would definitely ruin your whole day and a few more days.

Next time, bump the loader UP slightly and it will drive the pins back tight against the mounts to allow it to settle in therby keeping your fingers safe!!!

Man, that's tough just to read about. A painful lesson is one well learned...and I've had many like that in my life! Thanks for being willing to share it, you never know but it might cause someone who reads it to be a bit more careful and spare them the same.

Ouch... Hope you have a quick recovery. Injuries to the hands and fingers are always a pain in the butt.

I've grabbed that crossbar in the middle and done the same thing. I can't quite picture what you're talking about, I didn't realize the crossbar came that close to the quick disconnects. I think my tractor is probably identical to yours in that respect, I'm going to take a look when I go home just so I don't make the same mistake. The bad thing about hurting your hand is that you can't use it to punch a hole in the wall to take out your frustration. I guess you'll have to kick a hole in the wall.

At least you can still type and tell about it. Maybe when Dr. Jim Beam departs your friend Jack Daniels can type a follow up. Johnny Walker can do the spell check.
