I saw these on CL in a town maybe about 3 hrs drive from me. Apparently someone there is building and selling them for $199, which includes shipping. I'm thinking about ordering a set. Do you all think it's a decent price? I think they look pretty nice for $199. I would post the link, but I think CL links are a no-no on TBN.

Here's the body of the ad:

Our line of forks are designed and tested to be the most rugged, durable clamp-on forks available. These forks have proven to be one of the handiest attachments for the construction site, farm or home use. Designed to fit easily into a standard size truck tool box, BuckeTusk forks save space and are easily secured for transport. Each fork utilizes a T-bar style 5/8" diameter set screw with a 9" handle which makes them easy to grip and tighten, even when wearing thick work gloves. Enabling the fork to be secured tightly to the bucket while eliminating lateral movement is a wedge-lock design with a 1 7/8" opening that will accept almost any tooth bar or cutting edge. (Wider openings are available at no additional cost, just let us know when ordering) These forks are rated for equipment 25 hp and up and are constructed of 2"x4" steel tubing with a full 1/4" thickness, while the wedge-lock side gussets are 3/16". Total usable fork length is 42" for standard size pallets. Each fork has a sleeve that will receive a 2"X4" board or other material as a back stop.

These are not cookie-cutter forks and are custom built by experienced craftsmen, with your needs in mind. If your bucket has an extra thick cutting edge or curved bottom, we can customize your forks to fit perfectly. Buy your BuckeTusk forks today and turn your loader into an animal!

Every pair of forks is painted with two coats of primer and two coats of enamel to match YOUR tractor or equipment! When ordering specify the colors desired. If no particular colors are requested the forks will be shipped as black with yellow trim.

Standard Colors available:

JD Green with Yellow trim
Kub. Orange (New Kub. Orange)
Ford/New Holl. Blue with White trim
Mass. Ferg. Red with Grey trim
Industrial Yellow
Black with yellow trim
*Any combination of 2 colors listed above

Shipping is included in the price!

*These forks have a 36 month warranty on handles, set screws, and welds. Bending from overloading or improper use is not covered. These forks are designed to be used as a pair, with an equally spaced load at all times. Paint is not covered due to the heavy friction experienced during use.

Here are two pic's I copied from the ad. Of course they come in matched pairs, that's just to show some of the colors.

Seems like an OK deal. Bolt on forks are limited as to how securely you can fasten them. You can get a lot of torque with the forks sticking out 3 feet in front of your bucket. Just keep that in mind when you use them.

Looks like a good deal to me. I'd think you'd be happier with a real set of fork that take the place of the bucket. Of course they'll be double the price but much more usable, imo. I found a set on CL for $450.

I'd save up and get a pallet fork attachment - they will provide a taller back surface than a bucket will and it's at a 90 deg. angle to the forks. This is a big advantage if lifting near max. height.

This goes out the window unless you have a quick attach bucket or a pocket full of $$$$$.

Kebo,

If you decide to go for a pallet fork attachment rather than bolt-on forks, you might to want to check out Godley Auction in Charlotte. Welcome Page They have a new pallet fork attachment listed for $500.

Steve

PS. I'm not associated with Godley.

Kebo,

It seems like a pretty good price, but if your 790 has a quick-tach bucket and you're even thinking about bucketforks, you would probably be much, much happier with a real set of forks.
