Why I Bought a PowerTrac 425

I make one pass down the center out to the street, turn around and push it back towards the garage. I don't like piles at the end of the drive, as it blocks our view when getting out. So, I then back up to the street, keep the blade straight and push from road to garage and stack it all on the right side. It usually takes about three passes. Keeping it straight reduces the side rows. It takes a few more passes than if I would angle it, but what's a few more minutes of seat time? :)

I had my oldest girl plowing yesterday for the first time. She had fun. Maybe I'll post a couple pictures of her this weekend. We have a pile about 6' high, 10' wide and 20-30 feet long now. If we get any more I may use the LMB to move it to the back yard.

Mossroad, you are having way more fun than we are here in New England. I'm convinced it'll never snow here again because I bought the PT snowblower.

Oh, you mean like this MossRoad? Start them young, it reduces your workload!

Didn't you get snow out of this last storm? I got about 8" of heavy, icy, granular snow/sleet here in the hills just west of Worcester...

You're in the Berkshires, aren't you? I'd have thought you would've gotten even more...

MR, Great video! Reminded me why I moved south 29 years ago! It brought back memories of blowing snow in western Pa. with a Cub Cadet 122 in eighth grade, ... at night with lights and a canvas cab, ... freezing my butt off! Thanks again.

Kent, I'm in southern mass, where all we got was an inch of snow replaced with frozen slush. :(

Oh, that 'splains it... we didn't get dumped on like some areas, but I've never seen snow quite like this -- it was like shaved ice or something. No sleet or freezing rain, just snow, but not at all fluffy. As it fell, it was as heavy as what the snowplows normally pile up across the driveway....

I found it very similar to man made, like out of a snow gun.

Used my 425 to lift poles (hoops) when building my new green house. As they are over 13 feet high and heavy, the 425 with extension worked very well. From the pictures you will see my temporary solution of using a 1 inch square tube 8 feet long and attaching to my lift boom via two c-clamps. Toward the end of project the square tube started to bend but was able to complete the lifting.
Again, without the 425 and its unlimited abilities projects like this would be very hard to do.

Have you ever used one of these hooped greehouses? My wife wants a large GH but there is not that kind of money. These look cool but I am not sure their winter survival ability.
