What is the best way to get rid of tree limbs and fallen trees? We are under a burn an here untill Oct 1. I thought about renting one of those dumpsters that hold about 30 yards of material but that costs $400. Is there a better way??

thanks

Can you not just pile and wait for winter to burn? A match and some newspaper is a pretty cheap way to get rid of unwanted limbs and brush

I would go with a chipper -quick and clean.

Here's my pile of tree debris that needs disposing. I'm just waiting for a convenient and safe time to burn it.

October will be here in no time. I'd just wait to burn your stuff unless the pile is in the way and preventing you from doing something you need to do.

I call yesterday about renting a chipper for some limbs and brush thats been down for about a month. The guy at the rental place told me I waited to long and it would not be worth it for me to rent it. The woods been down to long. Is this true?

that does not make sense to me. I chipped up a bunch of limbs that have been down for a couple of years and had no problem. Matter of fact I thought it was better than the fresh stuff because the leaves are gone. I also tried some 5year old + rotted wood and that can clog up the chipper.

Well if you have the land you can divvy them up into smaller piles over stumps and logs. That way you provide habitat for the lower mammals that will work its way of the food chain.

Years ago I learned my lesson to burn as you go or pretty soon you have a pile the size of a 2 car garage...now what are you going to do?

On the windward side of a small green pile just concentrate on starting a small hot spot in the brush with used motor oil and a touch of diesel. The rest will catch eventually...a small fire with a few chairs around it is a camp fire. Usually they are exempt from burn restrictions. Good luck and be careful if you do burn because if you start a forest fire your azz is grass.
