Franklins in Atens GA has ammo cans all the time for like $3.5 for .30 cal and something like $4 for .50 cals. They also have great sales on other stuff too. Will have a end of year clearence sale on guns new and used like 30% off. I think it has something to do with inventory or tax purposes, they have it every year. They have more used guns than most gun shops have new, and more new guns than 2 or three normal gun shops.

Wow just clicked the link!!! $10 for a .50 cal and $8 for a .30 cal!!!

I think the last .50 can i bought i paid $7 for at a gun show maybe it was $10 not sure. In my head i thought it might have been $5 and $7 but maybe thats what i wanted it to be??

I am positive about Franklins sporting goods though, i just saw one of their ads in a recent GON (georgia outdoor news) from like april or march. That was their regular price. Im not sure if you can order on the web or not??

Just looked them up. Sight does not list ammo cans, but they sell them and im sure if you really want them you could get them to ship to you but by the time you ship .50 cals you could probly just buy them for $10 locall at a gun show or army surpluss store, i would not buy from CTD cause their price will go up after the shipping.

No i do not work there or own any part of it. In fact i only have been there once and just looked. I was in town for a continuing ed. class and stopped by after hearing about it. At sale time you will get the best deal around on a gun you can be assured, people drive for hours to go to their sales.

ammo boxes would certainly make for a good compact toolbox, but like any other toolbox the things I would need would be at very bottom meaning having to pull everything from the top out to get to the tool, not really a big deal.. Might have to find some kind of removal/ stackable trey that would fit down inside the ammo box so that can layer the tools, or perhaps partition it in half leaving it deep on one half and fabricating the other half with a pc that would hold the tools upright each in a slot of its own, the deep side could be used for storing a length of chain......;) I have a box although not an ammo box mounted to the left fender opposite of the work light, fits perfectly onto the fender, I keep 2 lengths of chain 10 ft. & 20 ft.
, thumb wrench, pliers, short handle hammer & reversible screwdriver, and of course some extra clinch pins,... when I first got the tractor it came with a very shallow box mounted in the center near the shifter , my big feet would always catch the box making it very uncomfortable getting on and off of the tractor so I removed it,

Can u post a picture, I was thinking the fender would be a good place also. No room behind seat because I moved it back.
