There have been some pretty nasty things in this thread-

I agree ! I have dumped many a cup of cold coffee out of my window at stop signs and red lights but I have never thrown anything else out ...just cold coffee - When did that stop being biodegradable ? Enough with environmentalist wackos....!!!! It has gotten ridiculous now...they can all go jump ! and pound sand too !

It doesn't bother me on the street, it can be a mess in a parking lot where people are walking. Depends on how much sugar is in it, must be a EPA standard for that somewhere

It's hard to step out of the car at store parking lots around here without your foot sticking to the ground where some sugary drink or even ice cream was dumped. I have been guilty of tossing an apple core in a rural ditch. A bananna peel crosses my threshold of "rapidly biodegradable" and I will keep it for my own trash.
The rule I made up when we are hiking, etc with the scouts is "if you touch it - it is now your trash" and your responsibility to properly dispose.
A plastic grocery bag will kill a goat. Thankfully my pasture is not near the road. I am still picking up a handful of shotgun shells and plastic Sundrop bottles every time I walk the pasture.

Well the coffee does not belong on the black top, does it? Not everybody on the road is inside a car.

Just to clarify...I drink my coffee black...no cream - no sugar so that makes it colored water which means when it rains...we are being victimized by mother nature who must be the greatest violator of dumping water all over.
We all better be careful how far we let restrictions go or soon there will be little any of us can do without violating some law or ordinance.
