Buying Advice Mahindra 5530

   / Mahindra 5530 #11
I purchased a Mahindra 5530 2wd last year and it has worked just great for me. In south Texas, we don't have to worry about cold or 4wd. So far, it has been a good tractor. The dealer took good care of me so far. I have about 48 hours on it. It gets smoother each time I use it. The dealer added the double hydraulics for the back at no charge. I paid less than $20,000. It has a front end loader... model 261 with a 6' Woods shredder model BB72X. I paid cash for the shredder so it wasn't included in the price. I also got 5 years no interest.

Very happy with it so far. I did see two very small leaks in hydraulic fluid. I will bring that up with the free 50 hour checkup and oil change. I got mine at Valley Farm Equipment about 34 miles from here. They have come and picked it up each time it needed something at no charge.
Boonut,
Sounds like you have an awesome dealer. My dealer is awesome also, but only makes $300 on each tractor sale. So if he threw in 2 remotes for no charge, I gotta ask..................how much did he make on your sale???

I have no idea how much he made. The way I look at it, we have to work together... especially since I now own a Mahindra. I plan on posting and telling friends about Mahindra to help him grow his business. I didn't know him before I purchased. I just liked the way he wanted to do business and wanted to help. I see more and more Mahindra tractors around. He initially told me it had the hydraulics for the back... and then later told me the tractor I ordered didn't, so he said he would through those in at no extra charge. His word meant something. Can't go wrong with that. I plan on buying more options for the tractor from Valley Farm Equipment in Mission, TX. Rufino is the manager. Nice guy.

With 5 year 0% interest, 5 year limited warranty, and a good tractor to go with it... the decision to go with Mahindra turned out just great!! They also had rebates when I purchased mine. Very pleased so far.

That is a good interest rate. I got 4.99 for 84 months.

I have 3 Mahindras. 3316hst, 6000 4x4, and 7010 cab. No regrets here. Simply put I could have spent more money, but I wouldn't have gotten any better tractors.
I started with the 6000 and it did everything here on the farm, including quite a bit of clearing, for 3-4 years. The 00 and 30 series are big, heavy, simple machines. Have almost 1000 hours on the 6000 and no major breakages. I admit I punished it too. I did have to replace the clutch prematurely, but I loaned the tractor early in it's life (300 hrs) and it came back with the clutch slipping a bit. Still managed to get 900 hrs out of it.
Sadly I don't really have much use for the 6000 any more. In 2 years I put less than 100 hours on it. It's a bull in a china shop inside my poultry houses and I don't even consider using it for haying with a cab tractor sitting next to it. Thought about selling it, but resale value is not great.

I am new to owning a tractor. What is the best attachment for digging a half acre pond? Is this the right tool?

It is doable, but a 55530 is kinda on the small side and will take a while. I dug mine with my 6520 4WD with a ML275 and 511 BH. It is only .04 of an acre and it took forever. Whatever you buy, be sure to buy on the bigger side of what you are thinking. I dug the pond down to 4 feet with just the loader bucket. Digging the dirt is the easy part. It is hauling it out of the way that takes all the time..........and I have a 7 foot wide bucket.
