wacky; this thread probably is heading for a record (if it isn't already) but that could well be a mixed blessing.

i still can't believe you let them beat you for another $2500.00 after the crap they tried to feed you with the repairs.

Well, I figured better to pay for piece of mind. I still ended up with a top notch machine:D.

Wacky - It is over..you made a decision and have a nice new tractor ..now put it behind you..that's what I would do..

I have a NH 29 D and the parking break from day one has been weak..these tractors weigh alot .. I'll tell you what I do...anytime I get off the tractor for a short time...I leave it running in idle & set the parking break ( for what that is worth ) and then the important part....I drop whatever attachment I have behind me and lower the FEL all the way + some so it is pushed into the ground...then I put the speed control in Neutal and gear shift in Neutral..and get off the tractor...Now that is what I do..

I sure hope you have trouble free enjoyment from your new tractor ..you deserve it after all you have been through...:)

Thanks Bob,
I lower the attachments and BEFORE I dismount I peak-thru the hole in the floorboard and see if the brake IS set properly. I hope to never have this problem again. I am even more cautious, than before, to the point I will not park on the hill while I am mowing my yard because there is no FEL on the tractor, only the MMM.;)

I used the BB last night, running at about 1500-1700 rpm and this thing was pulling out bricks and 8" rocks buried in my gravel parking spot in front of the house. I guess the bricks were from when they built the house back in 79'. I thought I was going to have to get more gravel, we have lived here for 12 yrs. and never added or graded it before. I looks a little muddy but I don't need gravel now:thumbsup:. This thing amazes me every time I get on it, how stout it is for its size. I think I caught my neighbor who owns a small 2 cyl bx, watching and drooling:laughing:.

So no on the upgrade? Same model you had before? Any idea why it works so much better than the first one?

No,I did not upgrade.
I don't think it works any "better" than my old one. I only got to use the BB one time before on my mothers 200ft drive to pull the gravel up that washed down the hill, which it does every time it rains hard. Most of the 25hrs. that was on the old one was mowing her yard and mine. Little BH use at home to do some landscaping. I am just impressed with the power of the little Iseki 3 cylinder. I think if it was in a bigger tractor that was heavier it could do just fine. I am pretty happy with this one so far, only 8hrs on her. I have yet to use the BH. But in the next few weeks I will have time to use it.

The weight (or lack of) is definitely the issue when using the BH.

Glad to see you are getting some seat time - making up for lost time!

Thanks for the explaination Wacky. I thought you had more hours on the other one which gave me the impression that this one was more powerful.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the new machine.:thumbsup:

In spite of the extra cost, I think you made a good decision which will leave you with peace of mind in the long run.
