You've seen his work. If you like it, the price is great. Even if he only removes the easy trim, grill, bumpers. Believe it or not. Removing some of the easy trim saves time in masking.
$2,000.00 is about 4 new truck payments. If the trucks not a daily driver. You could get 5, 6, 7, plus years. Cheap new looking truck.
If the engine ever has problems. Find a low milage engine form a salvage yard that dis-assembles and stores units indoors. You could get up to 15 years.

That's what, I got on a 1978 chevy 4x4. Had to give it up when the frame finally rusted out.

How about a inexpensive do it yourself Camo job. I see a lot of those around here, Of course, we are in deep redneck country. Ken Sweet

To make things match, you would need to remove ALL the pinstriping. Not sure it could be removed safely without damaging the clearcoat on the rest of the truck.

You can remove the stripe without damaging the clear, if the clear coat is sound.

However, more than likely, you will see a difference in the color where it was, after all that time. So, you would need to replace it, if you did not go with a complete paint job.

The camo strips I put on the rocker panels are not exactly cheap. To do a whole truck in camo tape would cost about $1000 dollars (see Camoextreme.com) but still be less costly than a quality paint job. I just don't like the finished result because the patterns repeat every couple feet or so and I think that just looks tacky bad, even if it is redneck country lol. Some of them look ok, it just depends on the pattern. Yes, mine repeats too, but it's not very noticeable imo. Now, I do like the looks of a quality custom camo paint job, but then I might as well paint the truck the original color lol!

I've thought of doing that on my old CJ when I finally get it roadworthy again (assuming that happens). I'll be broke at that point and not able to afford a quality paint job.

I had a 95 dodge that I paid $675.00 for an all over base coat clear coat paint job.I got some of those 2k quotes but wasn't going to pay that on that year mod truck. I was supprised !The guy did a great job for 675 I kept the truck about 5 yrs after the paint job and the paint still looked great when I sold it.

For $675 he must have already had the materials. BC/CC, reducers and sealer can't be bought for that. Let alone sandpaper, masking tape, masking paper and high quality fillers and primers.

Deal of the century there.

The one picture I posted doesn't show the whole story. There is a thin double line pin striping the entire length of the truck. The pin striping is faded, cracked, and peeling by itself. So, if you just repaint the front end, it would include removing the pinstriping. To make things match, you would need to remove ALL the pinstriping. Not sure it could be removed safely without damaging the clearcoat on the rest of the truck. That was part of why I decided to re-paint the whole truck but I'm not putting the pinstriping back on it though. Also, there are some small dings here and there, and a small rust spot on top of the driverside door.

eastwood sells a little circular 'pinstripe eraser' that works good on tape stripes to peel them off without damaging the paint (in most cases). Sells for about $20.

What else can you do with left over paint but paint another car?
