The dealership picked up the Massey this past Wednesday to add an engine block heater and a 84in rear blade. Got a color match canopy also. Will post some pics when I get it back to the house. Bring on the snow!

I put my block heater in last year for my 1652. It cost $90.00 from Northwood Power Equipment.

I asked for the engine block heater and the first scheduled service for free to seal the deal. He threw them both in. It's been a pleasure dealing with Harmony Outdoors here in Indiana.

The MF block heater cost me $150. But the really good deal for you is the 50 hr service included in your purchase. That's worth over $500, based on other posts lamenting the high cost of shop labor.

Mine starts fine, without a block heater.

However, I do keep a silicone pad heater attached to the bottom of the transaxle, plugged in.

Scott, I got one for my 2310 a couple years back... it was pricey and I don't use it real often, but the install went very well --it fit beautifully-- and it sure is nice to have it when it's really cold!

Here's a tip- during the summer when it's not used, you can remove the electric feed from the heater and cover the opening with a standard garden hose cap- same size and thread. That helps to keep the electric cord/plug from getting damaged and keeps the heater connections clean. (I'm assuming your block htr is the same, of course.) Just be sure to remember where you put the electric cord...

Great tip-I'll be doing this in the spring.
