I suspect that is true in all states. Some folks dont know the law it seems. Good thing we got sites like this to set them straight. I cant remember a time when I gave something away that I was not paid back ten-fold or better.

I remeber in the last couple of years where someone was convicted of selling game fish in MS. I give deer away every year. I got an expensive deer today with the front of my truck. The policeman asked if I wanted the deer. When I told him no, he got on the cell phone and found a taker.

I like this way best. People have asked to buy venison from me. I tell them I will sell it to them for cost, $50 a pound. If they are good people, I give them some and hope something comes back someday.

I had a couple of undercover troopers try to buy some salmon from me. I threw them off balance when I said I couldn't sell it to them it was illegal but gave them one. 2 yrs later one of them gave me a ticket when the state registration was pressured washed off my skiff only on one side, I guess he forgot about the fish. I kinda figure that if they were a good person they probably wouldn't ask you to break the law.:2cents:

With lease fees and gas prices, along with the hunting incidentals; my lowest possible acquisition cost per pound, best case scenario, would over $30.

That isn't true everywhere JohnRex. The 4 deer we have taken so far this year have cost 5 bullets and a little sweat. Oh and a 25 $ liscense. Can't really figure firearms into the equation as they are a multiple lifetime investment.

I don't want to side track... but the price for fish is more then venison!!! It ranges from a low of $40/pound upto ...Priceless!!!
