Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

/ Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck #1,342
I went to the HF store near me on Sunday and bought the 4x6 metal cutting bandsaw.....

TSC sells the same saw (different name, same saw). I bought one about a month ago for $229, after a $50.00 reduction because the safety shield on the drive belt was bent.

It's not the best saw I've seen, but it sure beats using my old chop-saw.

You would think returning a tool with a lifetime warranty wouldn't require a receipt. Sears just gives you a new tool, no questions asked.

My friend went to return (exchange) a craftsman tape and he was give a Stanley instead .(with no warranty).
They were loosing alot of money with replacements. But I dont think they should be allowed to not stick to the contract. and that was free lifetime replacements.

The real sucky part is this- my store has this bottleneck at the cash register to the point I am sorry I even go there sometimes its maddening.

They are constantly having to wait on a manager to authorize a coupon or a return its a very un-organized checkout system here anyway jmho.

This has been going on for years. Craftsman garden tools used to have the unlimited warranty. Then they switched to a one year warranty, so if you broke a shovel purchased with an unlimited warranty, that was the last one you'd get replaced. Soured me on Sears and I haven't shopped there in years.

I just dont understand how they can bow out of a contract. Its definetly not good advertising I also dont give them any business. In the last few years it was just washer and dryers and now home dpot beats the heck out of them
HERE is my hf thumbs up..

48" 3-1/2 Ton Farm Jack
Didnt think I would use it much. And I ahvent but it has come in handy .

I also bought these for 29.99 dollars a year ago apparently they have gone up in price and this price is supposidly a 40 percent savings.(so even HF has to resort to these kinds of strategies).

I haven't found the direct link information, but I have heard from several people that "Stanley" has been manufacturing for several name brands- including Craftsman, for some time now.

I remember going in with broken ratchets, they would give me a new one off the shelf. last time, the guy rummaged through a box of ones that had been fixed in-store. He said- 'same warranty", but i didn't like the fact that I got one that had already been broken. Fixed or not, that's not exactly what I expected as a "replacement". I'm curious what he fine print says now....... replace with one of equal or similar value?

Dargo??? Is that you??? :D

Spring compressor or jack stand from HF?? I rather strongly feel it's safer to play Russian Roulette with a semi-auto pistol than use those items from Horrible Freight!
