I mean, I listen to country music most of the time, but lately it is just annoying. If you compare classics like All my exes live in Texas or Mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys or the good old Johny Cash - current country music just plain sucks; wouldn't you agree? There is a lot of whining and nothing catchy in lyrics or melody.

It's all about money. Tradition Country has a small audience.
By the way hey stopped making all music in 1969, along with cars.

I never started listening to country untill 12 years ago. The rock stations back then started blending to much RAP, and I could not handle it. I now go back and forth. Seems to me we get acustomed to certain style and the new just does not cut it.

Also agree,even CMA wards.

remember when you caught yourself thumb thumping the steering wheel or toes moving, now good chance turn down the volume.

To many one hit wonders. :(

I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand that junk. They sound like they need a double shot of Pepto. I find myself listening more and more to Blue Grass. It hasn't been tainted by the opportunists yet. I hope it doesn't get popular. When I hear a singer from a foreign country sing with a country accent, and speak for instance with a British accent I think it's kind of funny .

You are a changing.

That's what it's all about. Unfortunately we all get older and can't go Back!

Each generation has it's own music it seems to identify by.:D

When rock radio went "big hair" and "stadium" in the 70's I switched it off & discovered bluegrass & folk music. Unplugged, with minimal to no studio wizardry. You can buy tickets for a reasonable amount & go see the show and they sound even better than their recordings. You can often go talk with the artists between sets. It's a whole nuther world.

If I can't find a 'classics' station, I do without. Mostly I've switched to bluegrass. At home I mostly listen to Bluegrass Junction on Sirius Radio on my Dishnetwork satellite setup.
