Boy, it's here now!

Snow map early this AM said 8-14", looks like we'll get that anyway, maybe more.... Still very windy, not exactly prime snowblower weather!

Yep....... same down here. We gotta have the better part of a foot already, and its supposed to go till 6 pm. I'm not really sure what you mean by 'not prime snowblower weather' though.

Well, Ductape, the way my property sits, most of my snow is blown off the lower areas --to the north! Doesn't look like it would get very far today. (Sorta like "spitting into the wind"....:laughing

Yeah, I'm thinking I'll try to wait for the wind to die down a bit....

It's Here! Just got done clearing my driveway, about a 1' on the ground now.

Looks like you guys over in jersey got the worst of it.

Same up here, Steve - 6-8" of snow is now 5-6" of slush everywhere. Power was out for 9 hours from 5 am today, no plows on my dirt road, but it's passable - as you drive over the slush you get down to the road surface. Another 10-20 cm predicted for overnight. We're lucky not to have received the wind too.

Sounds like your going to have a real mess there in NS when that slush freezes.

14" in CT, did the driveway this AM, Pulled a triple....picked up a rock in the snowblower and broke all 3 shear pins:confused2: Glad I had extra, better get some more. Still blowing like crazy, can only throw snow w/ the wind or else get a facefull. Gotta love it

So, the snow is over. Here are some lessons learned:

#1: Don't plow until the snow stops falling. I went out twice yesterday and it just made a big icy mess.

#2: Don't let Dad operate equipment...
