I have tried the 3 pt but have never tried a pull type. I plan to buy one of the two this year and didnt know which would be best was hoping to get to try a pull type also but could never find one to barrow. any advise will help Thanks my tractor is a bobcat 335 i do not have rear remotes yet but that is not a big problem.

The pull type on wheels would be preferred by many over the three point. :D

I would doubt that you would have enough weight/traction to pull an 11' disc, especially with r4 tires.

It depends on the size of your food plots. Pull type is a joy to use copared to 3pt. You can pull a larger disc and control the depth much more easily. 3pt is much more manuverable especially in smaller food plots. Also for me, the 3pt is much easier to load on my trailer.

I have the CT335 and I use a 3 pt. 6' set of discs for my food plots with ease. My biggest is an acre in size, but most of them are smaller. The bigger one takes a little time, but its nice to have the 6' discs in the smaller areas and going thru the woods to each plot. As you probably already know, don't try to turn sharply with the discs down, especially in the woods with roots and all.

I personally have to have a 3pt disc..Hunting land is not where the tractor and attachements are. So I trailer to the land and a large pull disc just will not work.. Alot of pull discs you have to have rear remotes to operate the traveling wheels also..My disc is heavy and works good behind my kubota...

I agree - I have an 8 foot pull type disk that my 5200 John Deere (40 HP) pulls, but it is a load in good soil if it cuts deep. My tractor is a utility with a FEL, not a CUT, so I assume it weighs a bit more. I would have actually preferred a 6 or 7, but I found a good deal on the 8 when I bought it.

I would not think you could pull anything larger than a 6 or 7 with your tractor, especially with R4s.

Hey thanks guys. My food plots are pretty much open and pretty large. I have 7 plots about a acre each . I have used the 3 pt seemed like i had to go over and over to break up soil and sod good, acted like it just wasnt heavy enough and followed tractor. So i started looking to barrow a pull type but never found one to use did find a cpl to buy and i guess they are 10 to 11 ft wide on wheels. Now last year was first time soil was turned up and had a lot of grass in it all though we did spray it with round up to kill grass. i did get a plow which i used on some of the plots was alot easyer. I would think my tractor would pull a 11ft disc but then i may be wrong. Any more pros or cons would be great. Plus what should a guy pay for a 3 pt disc ? Or pay for a pull disc? The 3pt disc i barrowed was from TS and seem very cheap. just my oppion. Thanks

I had a really hard time finding a small pull type. Could find lots of 10 feet and up, but 6 to 8 footers were tough to find.

You would be welcome to try my 8 footer, but you'd probably wear the tires down a bit coming from Nebraska to Kentucky to pick it up....
