I'm guessing he's getting close to a hundred pounds. I can pick him up, and he feels about the same as a sack of concrete, but bigger. His growth is amazing!!! I have pics on my game camera of his brothers. When I first caught Oscar, they were considerably larger then he was. I was guessing that they were from a previous litter. Same markings, so that's why I think they are related. Now I think Oscar is quite a bit larger then they are.

How do you weigh a pig?

Weigh Oscar with a cloth tape measure or string but don't lay it down or he'll run off with it.

I still haven't found my fence pliers from 30 years ago.

Well Eddie I made the mistake of giggling while reading this thread and my wife asked me what it was all about. I helped her thumb through some of the messages and she laughed and then asked if we could watch some Green Acres shows with Arnold Ziffel. This is right up my wife's alley as she thinks we are like the Douglases thrashing about on 42 acres. Many episodes are on youtube so I just spent the last 20 min showing her Arnold in a few episodes including one with Foster Brooks at a Chicago bar....hilarious. Now my wife wants me to hookup our AppleTV to the large TV so she can watch Green Acreas anytime she wants.....See what you've started!.....By the way the mature coat on Oscar looks good. My hunting buddy just returned from Texas with alot of pig meat. Its good to know that Oscar was not one of his targets. Thanks for sharing........Gary

I must have had anothoer "bald" moment. I never thought about standing on the scale while holding Oscar and then doing the math. Sometimes I amaze myself that I can tie my shoes in the morning!!!! LOL

Thanks,
Eddie

Not only does he have no fear of people, he's curious about them and will run up to you at full speed. He's extremly fast, and he makes a barking noise when he really excited.

He wants to come up and great everybody that shows up here. Just drive up and Oscar will run out to great your car just like a dog does. Then he will want to sniff your shoes, maybe rub some mud on your pants and pull your laces if he can get away with it. Then he'll lose interest in you and wonder off.

He's a very interesting pig,

Have you tried rubbing his belly to see if he will roll over like a dog? We had a full grown sow that would roll over on her side while you rubbed her belly. She loved it.

I concur that Oscar will be less likely to roam around if he is fixed. Also, if you put some rings in his nose, it might alert your neighbors that he is domesticated and prevent them from thinking he is wild and shooting him.
