1. My L3300 was recalled in 1996 by Kubota to replace a defective front axle holder which could have resulted in the front axle dislodging (per Kubota letter).
2. While the tachometer is indicating 540 RPM rear PTO speed, the rear PTO
is actually running at about 400 +/- RPM. I discovered this fact while attempting to build a PTO generator in 1999. (I reported this to Kubota at that time.)
3. I replaced both of the front axle seals.
4. The seat pan of my tractor is rusted apart. I will need to purchase another seat.
5. I have had to superglue one of the rear tail lights back into position since one of the plastic 'screw bosses' has broken loose. The other tail light is loose and vibrating.
6. Oil was leaking from around the rear PTO shaft.
7. The rear PTO locked into the running position. The cable shifter moved the transmission lever, but the rear PTO would not disengage.

My take:

1) Fine. Recalls are normal.
2) Completely unacceptable. This is a serious problem, IMHO. It does makes me wonder about the accuracy of my L4200's PTO speed at specified RPMs.
3) Normal wear - bad design across all brands of tractors, IMHO - they all do that.
4) Normal. Tractor seats all suck and are unreasonably expensive to replace.
5) Normal. I have yet to see a 17 y/o car that doesn't have condensation inside at least one brake lens
6) Normal - your usage has been all PTO, so after 1600 hours of straight PTO use, wearing out the seal isn't all that surprising.
7) Absolutely unacceptable. Evidently you got either a defective clip installed, or the clip was installed by someone with a defective brain, which is likely the case. Personally, I think odd failures like that should be repaired by the manufacturer for the life of the machine. I really do.

Incidentally, where do you live - maybe I'll buy your tractor, even though I know it is a lemon.

Hey... 16 year old Dodge Dakota still running, 112000 miles.

A Dodge that is still running after 112k miles? Wow...that IS unusual!

Oh, I dont know, I am no dodge lover myself, but I will have to say my company car, a 2000 dodge caravan, now has 224,000 miles on it. it is on its second transmission, the first having some slipping problems at 142,000, but is still on its first motor, sure it has had some things fall off, of it like AC compressor at about 175,000 and lotsa of tires and battery's but overall the thing keeps going and going..

Something is fishy here. OP says he is an engineer but profile says "farmer".
No location or any other info except a another "stir the pot" post on different thread regarding Kubota.
Probably not but can't this just be deleted?

I think I would look under the orange paint and see if it looks 'lemon yellow",then trade it back to kubota and let them worry about it

Mr 1dcorbin,
I am being lazy so I didn't read all of the responses. If your 3300 will start and run, I will trade you a 1910 Ford with a 770B loader and rotary cutter for it. The Ford has about 975 original hours and is a POS. Boy would I like the Ford to go away!
