My "JUC" Ser# is affected as well, wearing through at two points actually.
Be sure to contact your dealer. As I stated above, my dealer was not contacted by Massey about the hose issue.

Wacky, did you get your hose changed? Was there a difference in them?

Just finished up. The hoses are identical, there is no difference. I also noticed that the air cleaner is rubbing the upper hose!! Not much damage yet. I just need to shim the air box over in it's bracket. It is a little difficult to remove the lower hose clamp, that was the hardest part. Now, I am working the air out of the cooling system, just about 2 cups short of what was in the engine, so no big deal.

I kinda figured the hoses would be the same. There honestly isn't much they could change on the hose, as it's kinda tight in there as is. The only real fix that I can see is zip ties, as I don't think there is enough room for a bracket on the hose in the area where it's needed.

There is a small gap between my air cleaner and the upper hose.

I was in touch with them early yesterday and they're aware of the hose issue but up till now they've only repaired hoses on tractors with JVC vins outlined in the bulletin. They'll take care of it for me and to aid in any official expansion of vins affected I've emailed them a photo of the wear.

Here's an idea, :cool2:, when you remove your old hose cut a short section out of it and slit the hose so it can wrap around the new hose at the wear point, then add a couple of zip ties to hold it in position,. This way you will have extra protection before it wears through the actual hose with the anti-freeze, ;). KC :D :D :D

I figured everyone knew that. It's common repair technique.

If you really want to get fancy, take the new hose to a discount auto parts store, and get a cheap hose big enough to slide over the area of concern on the new one.

i'm leaning toward either tacking a cone style frost plug on the cable mount lever at the fuel pump, to disperse the contact pressure, or splicing a two or three inch piece of pipe into the hose where contact occurs, or both. a coating of bed liner or something similar on the frost plug would prevent rattling.

i think once you start going to larger diameter in a situation like that, you compound the problem. going to smaller diameter, by using a piece of pipe, would serve to move the hose over just a little bit and give some more room without changing anything else.

i think i'll go with the pipe mod first, then see what happens.:)
