Thats a nightmare,(or it should be considerd it as such, worst case scenario) If you took off the homemade loader and backhoe, you may get a 1000 for the tractor but I doubt it. Stick to your 500$, if he or she gets insulted, well so be it, times are tough. You made the offer.

what says home made to you about the loader? jungle gym loader styles were popular back then..

I agree. Deffinatally NOT homemade. And if it is, they did a heck of a job.

Around here, those loaders sell for 500-800 just by themselves. Even the trip bucket style bring 400-500.

And the backhoes I rarley see but should easially bring as much as the loader if they were seperated.

I see having no trouble at all selling the loader and BH for 1000-1500 alone. And then IF the tractor runs, you have it for little or nothing at all.

Lots of people on this thread are saying stay away, but I see nothing to make me even suggest that. Considering you are even looking at a 60+ year old tractor, I'd assume you at least know how to turn a wrench and find your way around a garage.

And as soundguy already mentioned, parts are cheap and pleantiful. As well as a wealth of knowledge to be found online if you ever get in a pickle. There is nothing hard at all about working on an old N ford.

I'm looking at the joints and the gussets, looks to me that the pipe is not coped, and the members don't line up. Perhaps it was made in a factory, dunno. I say if you can't get it cheap don't buy it. It's not even confirmed that it runs, not enough room for me. I think if you want a tractor you can find a better place to put 1500.
If you want a project, something to crawl under and spend on...this is for you.

that's why speculation is useless. if it don't run.. It's worth about 500-750 in scrap and loader and hoe

I wouldn't put much importance in whether it runs or not. You have to expect to do some work on an old tractor, and especially if you get it at a low price. If the rig can be made to function with mostly your own labor , then $1500 is a good price.
Of course, if it doesn't run for some expensive reason, then that has to be taken into account. Even so, it might make a great parts tractor for somebody who has more Fords. I will say, however, that's a lot of big accessories to hang on a little Ford. The word " overload" , both front and rear, comes to mind. And, the buckets front and rear are not that small.
I'd take a good look at the front axle components, and at however the backhoe is mounted . If the backhoe is mounted to the 3 point hitch, then I'd have to say " ouch" ! If you want to do serious work with a front loader and backhoe , you might consider a heavier duty tractor, and one with some low speed creeper gears in the transmission.

Got a call back

Said he got it running this morning and drove it around. Lots of folks saying it was not worth the money not running. Guess it fired right up...been sitting two years and not used and was dragged to the location it is in. He also blew two hydro lines moving the buckets around.

So i am thinking this thing is worth more like 1k+ like he is asking.

If anybody wants his number let me know. I am definitely not interested.

if I was near it, I'd take 2 hoses up with me and offer 1k$.. she's for sure worth that if she runs with no serious problems.
