2011 Silverado/Sierra

I have an '08 F-450 pickup, 4x4 King Ranch, 4.30 axle ratio. Best truck I've ever had, no problem pulling any load I've had behind it, handles a trailer like it's not back there. The 19.5 tires do ride stiffer but they are commercial grade truck tires. I have 41,000 miles on the truck and the tires show only slight wear.

4WD was a choice on mine in early Dec 2010 (Costco auto program choice), GMC Sierra 2500HD 4WD CCSB 6.0/6sp/3.73 and yes, some of the dealers do not respond well to programs. If you are speaking to the Costco contact and they treat you poorly, just report them to Costco.

It may not be intuitive to select the 4WD models, you have to use the "more" and keep looking. I just worked through configuring one.. it only takes a few minutes. I did a GMC back in Dec 2010 because that is what we wanted, but just now did a Chevrolet since that is what was being discussed.

I'll have to look again, but the Cotco rep saw the flaw as well...I did let tem know about it..Regional issue maybe, who knows...Costco was great about it..I did report the dealer too.

Costco just hooks you up with a participating dealer....The dealers are really spread out though...Convenience isn't a strong point for this program.

I agree, not sure if that is because more dealers don't want to participate or if Costco has some criteria or something else.. I used it as a tool for pricing and knowing what options were available or not. It is nice to know what the invoice pricing is and have something to work from. I know there are other websites that have invoice pricing but did not find one that did not require contacting dealer first...

I can't for the life of me figure out why anybody would talk about "dealer invoice" when talking about buying a vehicle. The dealer doesn't pay invoice, the dealer pays floorplan. Plus they have incentives from the automakers to sell so many, etc. Your best tool when pricing is go to as many dealers you can and compare prices. It never ceases to amaze me how much cheaper you can buy vehicles when you just shop around. This is part of the reason why GM and Chrysler wanted to axe so many dealers, it lowers the cost of each vehicle.

Just like when I was tractor shopping the Deere dealers were $2-4K apart on the same tractor that cost low $20's.

Started reading, didn't finish... but did notice your comment about the Nav Unit / Crew Cab / only choice!!!
Ford does the same thing but that is another story.
Point is why not buy an after market Nav Unit and get the Cab you want and save some money too.
Factory Nav Units are pricey to buy and usually to run and update, after market units are less expensive and are portable to other vehicles.

Luck on you new truck
Luck on your choice.

Here in Canada, and there may be one with American prices, we have a book called the lemon aid. It is written by Phil edmondston the founder of the automobile association. He pin points all secret warrenties and problems with every vehicle and all the scams to get more money out of you. I found this to be an interesting read which saved me alot of money. You will be surprised what he says about the mentioned trucks.
