Buying Advice Mahindra 7030

Thanks Ed.

Looks to be the same size as my 6520, only being it has 8 speeds to my 12. The 7060 is the emission changed model of the 6520, so I would think it has about the same about of brute strength mine has. I always work in 4WD and every so often shift into 2WD to keep the shift linkage limber. My 6520 turns when and where I want it to, yet I have not pulled anything other than my backhoe and mower. You will be surprised what those large front tires can pull you out of.:D
hugs, Brandi

But I think the 30 series is better looking than the 20 series. ;)

I have looked at a few tractors, New Holland, Kioti, Apollo (chinese), Kubota & regardless of brand this Mahindra 7030 seems to cater for my requirements the best of all of them. Your comments and advice reinforce this, I will be going to the city next week and will visit a dealer there but will probably hold off till May and Farmfest where they usually have some good deals going, though if they have one in the yard and I get to sit in the seat who knows what will happen. I have never been known for my patience.
Thanks
Ken

Ken, as long as your looking, might as well look at the 60 series Mahindra tractors, you will be impressed.

Just make sure yer sittn down with a seat belt on. I got a chance to sit in an 8560 a couple of weeks ago. When I asked the price and was told $52K, I told the guy not to start it I didn't want a test drive.

WOW, 52k! :shocked:When I looked at them at the AG show in 2010 they were 42k with the cab & loader. In Feb 2011 they were 46k. I guess that the dealer needed to make a few house payments.

You have to admit though, they are a pretty nice machine and still spec out among the best. Wish that they would offer a power shuttle though. Asked a Mahindra VP about that and was told that they are sold as fast as they can build them and that there was no planned upgrades. :(

Yea that's what I said WOW. I'll tell ya though at that price I might be looking at a different color. I can get into Orange no cab more HP for around $31K--$41K for the cab. So unless the dealer wants to have that tractor turn Pink on his lot he had better rethink his pricing.

I can get one down here for $49,000.

Your right, more HP, less everything else. My research has shown that you have to go up at least 1 hp jump and sometimes even 3 hp jumps to be able to match the capability of the 7520 & 8560 machines. Boy am I glad that I paid the exorbitant price of $29k for my 7520. ;) My feeling is that the number one drawback of the 20 & 60 series tractors is the lack of gears. I get by fine with 12, but it would be nice to have a 16x16 power shuttle.
