again, i hope that Kioti fixes the problem that has been had with a few tractors. But not all if them have this problem. Mine makes no sounds at all.

I am interested in what this sound is though.

Went back to the first of these post about squeal, I had no idea this had been going on for so long. My kioti sales rep called this morning and needed to stay home with his 10 month old sick baby. So reset for tomorrow to settle on what extras for the DK45SE HST without cab. I will bring up squeal problem and see what he knows about it. I was very sold on this tractor and Kioti until I found this thread, maybe another brand might be the way to go. I will post what I decide after tomorrows meeting.

IMHO, a few random tractors in a brand would not deter me from the brand nor would it make me have any less faith in Kioti's ability to resolve the issue at some time in the near future, (hopefully nearer). I've had two Kioti's and both have been excellent, aside from the squeal issue with the DK-40 I currently own.

I'd also compare rated HP on a 40 and a 45 and see if there is any real advantage to getting the 45 over the 40 for price and additional HP. The 40 is considered the sweet spot of the Kioti line and could do what you need without extra $ spent.
If I heard my dealer correctly the transmissions are made in Scandanavia. I could have heard him wrong, but somehow I doubt it, though I'm not ruling out an error on my part....

Hi, I will most likely stick with Kioti just gives one a little worry over this problem that has gone on for so long. I do understand the DK40 sweet spot but I have the bucks and want the few extra HP, and the 45 seems to be calling to me. extras for sure Woods brush hog, 6ft Woods gradder blade, and next month or 2 a backhoe either KB2485 or Woods BH90-X. Getting this for the great work this machine can do, I have a small place and could get most done with a much smaller tractor, but want something with a little more guts to it. I know that sounds silly but oh well. I will post what ever happens after meeting with the Kioti sales rep. I'm a retired guy with a little land that I can have some fun with and maybe leave it better than when I got it(been here 33 years). Never owned a tractor before, my only home and farm machines here have been Hay convayer, lawn mowers, garden tiller(5hp), and a very well homemade wood splitter(made by son inlaw). Looking forward to finding out where this tractor takes me.

Just trying to save you some $ on the extra HP, but do understand the want it, can afford it reasoning. FWIW, I like my Kioti KB2485 backhoe, its made by Kioti and fits well and works great. Ask your dealer to make up a loop hydraulic hose to stick into the remote valve setup, (assuming he puts one in before you buy have a backhoe; I don't remember if it is a standard item already installed from the factory), so you don't deadhead the hydraulic pump by accidentally bumping or leaving the A/B stick in any position other than neutral, when nothing is attached to the remote valve.

Good luck with your purchase.

Did you put a thumb on your KB2485? If you did what kind? Still waiting for the call from the sales rep so no final price yet. I will ask about the loop hydraulic hose. KB2485 reads like a great unit, but th BH90-X with that curved boom looks like it could tear the World apart. From reads on the internet Woods also offers mechanical or hydraulic thumbs for the BH90-X size backhoe. Haven't made up my mind yet about BH but will post when I do.

Mine, if I buy it will be put together and shipped from Calif.

From CA? That's interesting. The last I heard Kioti closed their warehouse
in W. Sacto (where I picked up my CK20) and the closest is now in TX. Of
course, if you are buying from a dealer in CA, they are the ones who
normally uncrate and install wheels, ROPS, etc. Sounds like a double-ship to
me.

The Bobcat versions of that DK come from a warehouse in Fargo, ND.

I have a BH90x on my DK40se both of which I love and the Woods mechanical thumb which I don't. I might feel differently if I did not also own a grapple but with a grapple on the FEL the thumb is essentially superfluous. Might also feel differently if I were building a long stone wall and had the hydraulic version. Basically IMO the thumb is overrated and underutilized. Spend the money on a grapple and controls instead then see if you really need a thumb as well.

Interesting tread:confused: I have a 2009 DK45SE HST with cab, 150hr and i did notice some noise in the drive train that wasn't there before, thought might be juste me:confused2: but appearantly not. Has anyone found a cure for this probleme? Gonna call my dealer tomorrow.
I don't have a backhoe on mine, but a rear blower with hydraulic chute and rotation. I did notice that when the noise is present, especially in reverse if i did raise or lower the loader, the noise would become nearly silent. I also noticed a slower travel speed in high range 2-3km less. Also while blowing snow in reverse (more than 10in) the tractor would jerk/loose power.

dfkrug, dealer is located in Hoquiam, WA., I'm in Aberdeen, WA. My Kioti guy only mentioned it would be put together and ship from CA, I will get more info and post as soon as I'm sure of his info.

IslandTractor, I sure like the look of the BH90-X, not going to get a backhoe for a month but no longer then 2. Should give me enough time with the tractor to figure out what to go with. Where did your Grapple come from, did you install yourself?

The famous Rick Wallace and his merry men prepared my tractor and BH then delivered it. I have no idea how the BH's come from the factory. There is nothing particularly difficult to comprehend in how it is put together so long as you follow directions on the hydraulic hook ups.

I like the Woods BH90x very much but the Kioti BH subframe is easier and quicker to mount/dismount.

Island Tractor, talked on phone with my kioti rep, $22,500 for DK45SE HST, Woods BrushHog 72inch $1750, Woods 6ft back gradder $375. Will meet with him at dealer tomorrow to do the order, I put $30,000 cash by to get this going so will start looking for a backhoe and add what I need. Thanks for the info on Woods and Kioti backhoes, I will post what I finally decide on. From what I have read Rick Wallace is someone to have with you when hunting equipment, no matter what the brand, I believe he would get you the right model at a fair price.
