I have a 600' gravel driveway and each summer I go around with a tank and sprayer wand to spot kill weeds with Roundup. It's time consuming but pretty effective. For some reason, this year the weeds are thick and spot spraying will be a lot of work, requiring frequent trips to the house to refill the 1-gallon tank.
I looked at tow-behind tank sprayers which hold 15 or more gallons, some of them have electric pumps which run off the tractor battery. Looks like a good option, except that the spray nozzles seem designed to broadcast the material in a wide fine mist, and I don't want to overspray beyond the driveway edge (lawn and flower beds). Are there any good options for this? I was thinking of making a towable gravity feed drip affair, using a large tank and a 5' rigid tube with a series of small holes along the length.
Also any cheaper alternatives to Roundup?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
