He has had no problems. But said it is a 1997 model and 29 hp, how can this be?

OK,

Not trying to cut anyone else out of business. But, Fredricks had a 3110D( not refurbed in VN) with an american built loader ( not VN loader)for around 7500 last time I was there

If Ernie were closer, I would buy from him

Is the Yanmar marketed by cub cadet an identical Yanmar in Japan except for the paint job? What I like about the Yanmar diesel engine in the cub cadet is that it is a direct injection high pressure diesel not an indirect diesel like most of the compacts on the market now. Can I buy a Yanmar in Japan and bring it home, what would I face with government regs. to do that, does anyone know? I don't think there are import laws on tractors like cars.

I am about to buy a ym2620 with a bulldog FEL plus a 4'bushhog. The tractor was refurbished. The guy I am buying it from has had it for 1 1/2 years. Wants $6000 for all. Runs good looks good. He has had no problems. But said it is a 1997 model and 29 hp, how can this be?

No its not a 1997 more like a 1980 something. And That seems high but not sure, he prolly paid about 8K for it from a VN refurbisher. If it is trouble free now its prolly OK if he really had it for 1.5 yrs. See how many hours are on it, they usually set them to around 15-20 or 0 when the VN guys do it. This will tell you if he really got it a yr ago or he has a big problem and is trying to dump it.

No you can do it but shipping and port fees will kill you just buying one crate that size, my guess is to the toon of upwards around 5K but not sure. Ernie can tell you what a 20 ft container costs vs i think 10 tractors in it and then you can see what the per unit cost is.

I wonder if one of the Yanmar guys had extra space if I could piggy back on with one of their shipments for a lower price. I think about 5K is about right that's about what a car would cost to ship to Japan.

This thread is sort of bouncing around so I have a question and comments to throw in here. The picture of Ernies ym2002d is great. I own a ym2002d that came through Vietnam. Ernie, yours looks better than my refurbed did when I first purchased it. Are those new tires on yours or just look like new tires? Also, for you tractor experts, the engine tag on Ernies reads 3t80u-na. The engine tag on mine reads 3t80u-nap. Anybody guess what the p on mine indicates? Not that it makes any difference but the breather hose coming off the top of the valve cover is different on mine. Don't know just what is in it but mine has a little square box mounted on the valve cover and then the hose comes off it. I always figured maybe to catch any liquids that might make it that far up but then I'm purely speculating. My refurb also had 2529 hours on the meter when I bought it. Had multitudes of problems but have worked through them and now have a high dollar dependable tractor. Ernie, just wondering if yours has power steering and wet brakes. Mine has both. Just fishing around to see if one might identify the p in the model number. Hope I haven't drifted to far of course to offend someone.

Winston, Our 2002-D does not have power steering, but it does have wet brakes. We received 4 2002s this last load, one had 199 hrs and it was a beauty.

Clem, shipping is all over the board sometimes.
Our last load was $3800 for a 40' container, plus broker fees, plus delivery fees from the port to our location.
