Snow Is Front Mounted Snowblower "PITA"?

I bought a 76" John Deere rear PTO blower for $650 last fall. Works well, I don't lose the use of the front end loader.

I run a 60" rear Meteor on my little ck20s off the PTO and it allows me to use the FEL to move piles of snow when they get too high. Although the blower shoots snow "way over there", those piles of crap at the end of the driveway that the town plows leave really need the FEL.

well the dealer e mailed me a quote last night, almost $5700 for a 62" front mount installed Bobcat unit.

I am probably going to go in and do the deal Monday unless I find out that it is a bad deal in the mean time.

a 900 foot driveway is to hard on the neck for a rear mount, and as well as the FEL did moving snow, I spent the first month this spring cleaning up piles of rock

With this I can help my neighbors out as well

I paid 3200 for a 66" Bobcat brand rear blower. If you just sit sideways in the seat, it really isn't that hard on the neck. I would never give up the fel for moving larger banks and back dragging around the cars and buildings.

$650 for my 76" used JD blower or $5700. That is a lot of Advil. I look after over 1/2 mile of driveway and would not want to lose my FEL. Too valueable!

I'm with you. I would not give up my frame mounted 7' hyd angle plow for a front blower to deal with my 1/4 mile drive. But I do like my 74" rear mount blower which I can swap out with a 7' rear blade depending on conditions.
The front hyd angle plow is several times faster than any blower in most conditions until you start measuring snow in feet.

lilranch2001, I'm with you. Twelve years of "saving money" at the expense of my body is enough.
