I recently changed my Hydro oil & filter, but could not find the magnets located at the inside transmisson filter, have they quit installing these magnets.

Attached inside of drain plug inside may have a magnet.

Mine had the magnets inside the strainer behind the 3pt sway chains.
I also just did the 50 hr service on mine and it wasn't too difficult other than having to take off the left rear tire(fluid filled!) to get the pin out enough to get the sway linkage out of the way! It was also interesting trying to get the filters broke loose, it was like they were tightened by a bodybuilder gorilla!

Hey lipps. Welcome to TBN:)

Jd parts shows the magnets inside the strainer. They are #16. If yours doesn't have them,I would get them pronto. They are a critical part of the transmission filtering system.

Scrappy, you don't have to take the wheel off if you remove the bushing into which the pin goes that holds the sway linkage. The bushing on the left is removed with two bolts. The one on the right has three bolts -- I remove the one on the left.

Yeah, the xmission filter was tight the first time. I use a standard, adjustable engine oil filter band clamp and it loosens the xmission filter easily.

As GLC mentioned, you really do want those magnets. Mine have caught a lot of fine metal pieces that have otherwise gone through the filter screen.

Thanks! I didn't even think of that, but I will try to remember that tidbit for next time!
