Getting some good ideas and answers to the question. Now to do some planning and apply them. Have been looking at a surplus Bazooka for trafic tie ups. Lol

use ubolts to hold a bracket tot he rops.

if you think a bolt will pull thru the ammo can.. simply back it up with a washer to spread the weight.

I love 40mm ammo cans.. got one last week at agun show. same deal.. it's for tools on a tractor..e tc.

I normally have 50cal cans in my truck.. etc.

You could mount a 76mm recoiless rifle on the ROPs and it would not kick as hard as reg.artillery? US army had them on jeeps for years..The 105 would be to hard on the frame and tires..I sometimes need a 20mm on the hood while out on our X-pressway.I just bolted a plastic tool box to the left fender top to use for loose parts and a few wrenches..

I'll take two please!:D:D:D

But let's be honest, 20mm ack ack would "get the job done"...

Plus the big bucket of belt fed ammo doubles as ballast...

plus you can move it or remove it, or reposition it if needed... AND it doesn't deface the rops either.

win-win-win

That looks Nice, complete with matching paint and decal. I have added an Iron pipe grille guard in the front of mine, PO had wrecked the grille and headlight assy?.

thanks, I probably have about ten bucks into it. Kind of prone to getting bent if I get carried away piling snow though.

I went to the Military surplus store looking for a .50 caliber ammo can to make into a tool carrier for my Kubota 7200 and found a 40 mm ammo can instead. The .50 ammo can is 11x 5 /12 x 7 inches while the 40 mm can is 18 x 5 1/2 x 10 inches. The 40 mm will handle a lot more and I'm wondering if I need to rethink my mounting system. I was going to weld a 1 and 1/2 inch piece of flat bar acrossed the ROP and bolt the .50 ammo can to it. Now I'm wondering if the side of the can would not be able to hold the torque and the bolt heads would be pulled through. Any ideas or suggestions? Do I need to fabricate a shelf for the can to sit on and then bolt it to the cross bar I weld to the ROP? I can't mount it too the fenders as they have grab handles on them and this leaves no room.
Russ

Maybe you could mount the box on a fender, and then remount the grab handle on top of the ammo box?? Something to think about anyway. Here's how I did mine. Fortunately, I had room to mount mine on the right side, although I did have to relocate the cup holder to the left side.

KEBO, that is a nice looking tool box you have there. I don't have enough room on the fender even if I move the grab handle. I would have to move the warning light too. I think I'll end up u-bolting the box to the bottom cross piece of the ROP and make a cross member that I can bolt the side of the box to. Then I can also use the cross member to hang chains off of. Thanks for the idea though.

That's mounted on your loader stand, isn't it?
Never remove your loader?
