The York TV station predicted 5-9 inches, the Lancaster station predicted 4-8 inches...we're on the upper end of the predictions.
50some thousand lost power in York County (mostly southern York County). We were pretty prepared (coffee in the thermos, battery lanterns out and ready). Even got 5 gallon of diesel on Friday and moved both vehicles away from the garage (this morning) in preparation of plowing...should have got the Deere out then, but it was still pretty early.
I was telling my wife about a 3PH generator on Craigslist...25kW. I missed that one, but I think I'll be keeping my eyes open the next time one shows up.
Although my wife hated this outage, the dog and I enjoyed every minute of it! First snow for the dog...

ADDED 2011-10-30:
A few pictures taken after the snow...

You got more then us for sure. A good percent of ours has melted already...

Same here...quite a bit melted away and most of the trees are upright again...few limbs down, but not as much as I'd expected.

You'll have your turn with a serious snow soon enough!!

Started at 9:50 am. First pic, about 2:00 pm, second about 5:00 pm. Plus, it snowed for a couple of hours more, to the point, that the sidewalk/stone path got well covered. It's not all gone, but a good portion is gone.

Snow started here at 5PM Saturday, snowed continuously until about 7am Sunday; we got a good 8" here- but nothing like southern VT and MA!!

I tried the "Kyle" method first- MMM & backhoe on, using FEL.... gave up on that and pulled the tractor into the garage, disconnected the BH, dropped the MMM, put the BH back on, removed the FEL, put on the blower.....

It was a long day. Got the wife's car stuck, sideways, halfway up the drive, so she had some friends come to pick her up for work. (Staff nurse at our hospital- no snow days there!) That snow was really slick!

The blower did the trick; only plugged the chute once with slush....:D

Maybe now, if it melts off, I can finish with the lawn & the leaves!:p

I found when using the "Kyle" method, you have to keep up with the snowfall...or it becomes a big pain...

Nope, because when I would "sober up", I'd be in prison. ;)

Here we go again!...

I posted in this thread last week, when we had a Wednesday storm out here in Colorado that took out power and trees galore... looks like similar hit you guys out east a few days later.

Well, tomorrow is Wednesday, so... Time for the Weekly Wednesday snow storm. Whole front range in Colorado is under winter weather storm warning. Since a lot of trees lost boughs AND leaves as a result of the last one, they should be safer this time around. Wife and I just got the limbs cut and piled from the last one! :confused2: :confused2:

On top of that, they say we may get more on Saturday as well! WooHoo! Bring it on!
