RR, sorry.......I was Helter Skelter yesterday. AM- had a 16 roll Hay delivery, so I went to hook up the 20' bevaertail. Rats...I forgot that the last time I used it to haul the rafters up to the house site I broke 6 forward welds from the bed to the frame. Over to the shop, used the tractor to flip the trailer up on it's side so I didn't have to weld upside down.....which I really despise. Put the welder up and load the rolls, deliver hay...yap with customer for 45min. Got back to the shop and had to clean it out(in laws are inbound tonight from Manitoba). Just closed the shop doors and see the roof helpers arriving. Dash up to the house, harness up and get on the scary man lift. We finished it at dark...and I ummm, er...ahh... plumb forgot the camera:D

Ok, I have the camera in my mitts.....concrete is arriving at 0900 hrs:thumbsup:

Oh, and this is what was left of 300+ logs:

I will have to mill a few more for the bird blocks and some porch posts but I was happy with the small amount of waste. The blocks will make great fire starters.

It's raining now and it is a big weight off the shoulders knowing the house will stay dry

I'm impressed. Keep up the good work, or better yet, take a breather, then get back on it!

Rick,
Your an inspiration.:D Instead of buying a used Harley:(, I am looking for a used sawmill. I will mark off..............build Log home........off of my bucket list. Do you ever cut logs for others for trade or cash?
hugs, Brandi

Aww Brandi...a sawmill instead of a HD? That's a rotten choice to make....I know I already did that... kinda. I sold my '98 RoadKing a 7 years ago when the funds were short. Something always seemed to pop up when I tried to buy another one. Couldn't stand not having 2 wheels & bought a DR350 for peanuts. Got tired of kick starting the finicky thing and a couple of years later bought a DRZ400S with eeeeleeectric start, then sold the DR350. I have to say I love the Dual Sports...we have more gravel roads here than paved:thumbsup:

Anyway, yes a mill is a really useful tool, you will defiantly get your money out of it.

I have not sawed much for anyone else yet. I might when/if I find the time because once the house is done I need to finish sawing out the lumber for the 60x80' barn. After that who knows............

Rick,
I used to ride my brother's Honda XL 350. We have tons of rice paddy levees down here and that bike knew how to fly over them. Here is a shot of the HD I am passing on. It is a 2008 Hertiage Softail. Maybe when I retire, I will buy one for the open road.;)
hugs, Brandi

Hey Stu, that '90 is in great shape:thumbsup:

Dual Sports, or back in the "day" we called then Enduro's.....pure pleasure to ride on the small twisty black top, gravel roads, trails etc. Not a big investment for some perma-grin:D
