I own or co-own with the bank a 2006 TC40DA with 16la loader
I did a landscape project using retaining wall blocks. It was a good experience for me with my loader limits. I tried to lift the hole pallet 2450lbs of the ground, it just lifted the back tires off the ground. Then i had about 1400lbs on the pallet, it moved it ok very light on the back(no wheel weights). I then got braver and added 1575lbs and as i backed up i turned the wheel to the left and the whole tractor went sideways( the back wheels were just barely in contact with the ground. I was a little embarrased as my as my relation and beer drinking friends were helping more like watching and they figure it would pick more up.
SO then i picked up wheel weights for the rears max 2 sets. I tried to see what it could lift then. 1575 picked it up handled it alot better more stable. I then kept the pallet up another pallet where i loaded them by hand as i loaded it i eventually had to stop because the back wheels lifted off the ground

Crap so i started unloading until the wheels came back to the ground.
Still not satisfied i build a ballast box and started filling it with gravel. Have it where if i pick up a fully loaded pallet the loader will stall out. I think its too much weight but i am waiting to get it on a scale to weigh out how much the box weighs. I did pick up a pallet out of the back of my 1/2 ton pickup the pallet weighed 1750lbs the last 1/2 layer of blocks were closer to the loader than out at the end of the pallet. I could lift it up and down with no problem. But it was not comfortable. 1700lbs I would be very uncomfortable loading it on the pickup. 1575lbs on the pallet forks i usually didnt lift over 4 foot high and if i did i wasnt driving, just lifting high enough so we wouldnt have to bend over
What i have learned is the max weights for these loaders are good and they will pick up what they are rated for. However make sure you some antacids, life ins. policy and good laundry soap because when i get these weights on they are tipsy, the loader i am afraid could start breaking. I have weight on the back but ive seen full sized farm tractors split in half with 2 round bales in front and two in the back. Most round bales around here are 1200-1400 lbs. If you have 1600 on the loader and another 1600 on the rear that seems like alot.
This got longer than i thought.
I am still considering rim gaurd, im dont like the weight on the 3pt arms.
