RTV 500 Gun Racks

O.K. spent the weekend looking in Cabellas and Gander mountain stores for an old fashioned gun rack, like you use to see in the back of pick-up truck windows in the 80's.
Political correctness seems to have made these obsolete!!!!
Any how, looking towards the old WW2 / Korean Jeep vintage gun rack that mounted on the floor.
Ideas / Memories??????????

My first 4WD Ford F-150 Custom had the old school gun racks in the cabs rear window. What I remember most about this was I was full on Redneck with my fishing pole, rope and cowboy hat hanging on the rack all of which were stolen outside a strip-club in Oklahoma City. Good Times! :thumbsup:
Since I have matured I have found a much better way to secure my toys and because I have so many toys, not to mention a wife, I keep a closer eye on them and my one-dollar bills.

I mounted one of the big sky single gun racks under the canopy of my tractor. I usually carry a Ruger .223 Ranch rifle in it. I really like the rack and plan to get another one for my Polaris Ranger. I will probably get the two gun model for it.

I just bought a JD 2020 and will probably mount up a shotgun or .30-30 on it. Until then, I still have my Troybilt lawn tractor that has a .45 cal Witness keeping me company when I'm out on the property....

Looks like I have another project now.

I wanted to add a rifle case mount to my 650 dual sport, now I want a gun rack on my ROPS on the tractor so I don't have to tote the glock anymore. I'd much rather yank down my mosin or little marlin .22 to pop coyotes and try and hit them with a pistol.

I use the Texas Hunt Co case because the mounting straps let me move it to my Jeep, truck, UTV or just cary it as a gun case.

You wouldn't have been parked outside the Red Dog when your stuff was stolen were you?

I started a thread not too long ago here in the Customization section on the building of this short barreled pistol gripped shotgun scabbard which is attached to the tractor's FEL dock. Not an old school gun rack but still very secure and effective out in the elements. The 12 gauge shell bandoliers are made from standard residential gas pipe sans the tar coating. Maybe this concept could be adapted to an RTV.

wow, a gun holster for $415!! I like it's looks and features but its pricey. A Big Sky double rack works for me.

Man you guys must tractor in some bad ***** neighborhoods to have to be packing that kind of heat on your lawnmowers and tractors. I was thinking of getting one of the old style rear window gun racks for my RTV for my shotgun as I occassionally find a snake hanging around the pond in the summer. Once upon a time, a pistol would do for this, but now sometimes I need two shots with a shotgun.
