Flying metal in Plymouth, MA

My guess is somebody hit a heavy duty boundary stake or hidden scrap while rough mowing. The piece looks like it got chewed up pretty good before it went sailing.

As usual for the media, it doesn't give enough information. What other industrial facilities if any are nearby? Something manly sure chewed up that chunk of metal.

From the picture I saw it reminds me of a broken truck axle. I saw quite a few pieces just like that working at the concrete plant/garage.

whatever it is.. the diameter of it and the cylindrical shape and shear faces, sure makes it look like it was a hard axle or similar.. not a plain cold rolled round stock..e tc. but yeay.. some sort of solid machine shaft..e tc..
