Hit head on ROP support

Today while crossing the creek too fast to keep from getting stuck I bumped my head on the ROP support post. I have done this before and figured I would do something. I wrapped some of the black foam pipe insulation around the area where I hit my head. I then tie wrapped them in place. Does this seem like a decent fix? Has anyone else done this? Is there a better solution?

I did this. But I glued on pipe wrap. Saved me a number of times BUT I run in trees and the limbs have torn it off bunches I'd times.

Same here... I couldn't keep the pipe wrap on it.

I did find find some old automotive door edge trim that I'd picked up somewhere over the years that I've been successful in keeping on the sharp edges of the ROPS canopy, not the supports. This trim, originally intended to use on the edges of metal door panels has metal clasps embedded in the vinyl material. It's only about 1/2 inch in diameter, and not as soft as the foam, but I've been successful in keeping it on the edges. I've snagged it an pulled it loose a time or two, but a rubber mallet or something similar will put it back on...

Meanwhile, it's enough protection to prevent cutting my forehead when I bang it on the edges...

Use a climbing helmet. Comes in handy for falling limbs and such stuff also.:thumbsup:

They are light, cool and protect the Pate from Sunburn.

If you are smart and bought a pt you have no fear of falling objects. The fops have a heavy metal sunshade that has saved my bacon at least twice.

I have not test it yet, just installed it. Has anyone bumped their head on the foam rubber?

i've pretty much tear everything off too. I wear a hat and it keeps me from cutting my head on the edges.

Maybe duct tape would work better.
