Tommy, thanks for the tire suggestion. They look like decent tires, but i see they are still only 6 ply. My existing are the same 6 ply and I can only assume that the darn fence post would poke the same size hole in them as it did in mine.:mad: It will be a hard decision on which tire to pick when the time comes due to all the options out there. Too many choices... this is a good thing...

Just had to help fix a flat on a JD Gator that kept leaking down. Pulled it off, tubbed it in water and looking for thorn leak, nothing. Finally wiggled the valve stem and bubbles. It only leaked when slightly moved to the side like with centrifical force of movement. 20 mile trip to tire store and $3 fee to replace the stem cured the problem although the stem can still be turned easily by hand just like the old one but it doesnt leak.
I dont think I ever saw a tubeless valve stem that could be rotated easily (I mean really easy) when properly seated but these do. 12 PSI is recommended pressure on these and brother-in-law has never had a flat from thorns or sharp objects and we have lots of both around here.
I run my Kubota 900 with factory air, whatever that is as I have never checked the actual pressure and so far not a problem.

Hay gang,
3 mo old RTV 900 and already had 3 flat tires.  Have the Kubota ATV tires and wondering if anyone else is having this trouble. Have not run over anything that i can find other than possible tree branches. First 2 flats were front and rear at same time, and now rear again. All times looks like large puncture from ???? These tires are 6ply "rated" but sure seems easy to puncture. What is your all recommendations for a replacement tire. Mostly running over trails thru woods, and around planted fields.
Happy with tire traction and very happy with RTV, (65hr):D :D but can't keep plugin tires.. Thanks for your opinion's

I was serious Jeeper in Denver, back in the late 70's and used a product called "Flat Proof". It's similar to the new "Green Slime" but creamy and won't screw up the balance of the tires like Slime will.

I came home after going jeepin' in central City one weekend and a neighbor pointed to a nail head sticking out of my front tire, which was up to full pressure! i never fixed the tire and never pulled the nail out of the tire!!

You can get this stuff at most any motorcycle dealership.

Thanks Rod, good info. A few years back, I was slowly driving up my neighbors paved drive in my pickup truck, and had the window down. Keep hearing this "click..click..click" got out and looked at my tire and there was a 3/8 bold sticking in the tire. Had been there so long that the head was worn almost off. Was afraid to remove it as I knew it would go flat then. Leaked a little air, but I just kept putting air in every once in a while, and kept driving it that way for about a month until I could afford new tires for the old truck. Didn't have any sealant in the tires but they held pretty well as long as the bolt was in place.
Another time, I ran over a "DEER ANTLER" with filled tractor tire and saw this stream of calcium spurting in the air going round and round.... That one cost me $300 to fix, and I now use the DEER antler as a hat rack in my closet.
My local farm tire dealer has a collection of odd things they have removed from tires. Pretty amazing. Fortunately this dang fence post has now been COMPLETELY removed and won't have this post to worry about again.

I scanned this thread, so I may have missed something.

I put Slime in my 850D XUV tires and stopped slow leaks.

Another thing to check is the schraeder valves (the guts of the valve stem). I have found that many times a slow leak was caused by the schraeder not tightly seated.

I'm old enough to remember valve stem metal dust caps with schraeder keys on the end for removing / tightening the schraeder valve. (Still have a few.)

not tight.. or just leaky.

they are so chep to replace.. it's worth a shot.

they sell tools to rethread and recon the seat area... it's a multi tool.. removes, cleans seat and threads, then you can put a new one it.

no law says you can't put a lil thin ptfe paste on t he seat seal either.. :)

had a flat while hunting. 3/4 gallon slime ran out, put 2plugs in hole...lasted .8 round trip to deer stands. Son bought me 2 new tires and will buy me a rim when we can find one.

anybody have spare RTV rim to sell??

Broken off T posts suck. I lost a brand new Firestone 13.6x28 tractor tire to one, my tire shop got Firestone to cover it as a field hazard. :)

For general flat repair (aka, not a T post), what I'm about to suggest will sound strange. I didn't believe it at first, but after trying it, it really works. Instead of using Slime, use liquid laundry starch. No, I'm not joking. I don't know how, or why, but it works just as well (if not better) than Slime, and costs less than 1/3 as much! I've put it in three or four riding mower tires, and the steer tire of my utility tractor. It really does work.

I ran a small tree stump in the rim and tire on mine yesterday. Da*n beavers. I was in low range --slow--and it bent the rim anyway!! I beat the rim out with a hammer and pulled the wood out but I'm not sure its going to hold air. Anybody looked on Ebay for rims? Someone, somewhere has put a nicer set of rims on their machine and has 4 good factory ones just laying around.
