I posted in the introduce section but now i dont see it, Got my new "first" tractor and man is it nice. I used to run many differnt tractors as a kid and really like the manual shifter. So i got a 3005 and 300 HD loader "has replacable scraper bar" And got a great price. Just wanted to share !
I also want to buy a top for it, just for rain any suggestions would be great !
Great machine, the 3005!! I'm sure you'll get a lot of good years out of it.
Do read TBN threads on the 790s. There are pretty strong points to the tractor, but also a couple weak points (front axle issues...especially when pulling in reverse), That's not to criticize the machine (I had a 790 for 6 years), but just something to be aware of.
Also, if your dealer didn't provide a ballast box with the tractor/loader...spend the couple hundred bucks and get one. The 3005 is a powerful machine for it's size, but could use a bit more weight for loader operations and traction.
Good luck, be safe and always use your seatbelt!
Ya know I never thought to use my belt even one time yesterday but I am sure it's very prudent. Do people actually roll there tractors. Also thanks I will look for the 790 threads.
Yes, people do actually roll their tractors. As a new owner/operator, one of the forums you want to review is Safety.
Since your 3005 has a fixed ROPS, you should use your seatbelt all the time. I did...in fact, I felt very uncomfortable without using it.
Thanks will do ! If my tractor has a fixed ROPS, why does that have anything to do with wearing a seatbelt.
With a fixed ROPS, the seatbelt keeps you within the protective envelope (of the ROPS).
On a tractor with no ROPS, or has a folding ROPS folded, you do not want to use a seat belt...you want to try to jump from the tractor.
My current tractor (a Deere 4400) has a folding ROPS. I have to fold it to park it in my garage. The only time I don't have my seat belt on is when I pull the tractor out of the garage.
