You might keep your eye out for a Model 49 hoe as well. They're a larger framed hoe with additional capacity than the 48 hoe and they'll fit a 5000 series tractor very well.

The few times I have used it, I was impressed with how capable it was.

I've been looking for a used 595, but they are hard to come by it would seem, where the 49 is much more common.

If the ad is legit, that is a tremendous bargain!

I would be extra cautious in dealing through Craigslist, but I would check it out.

Yep... it'll fit those tractor models.. if you have the correct mounting brackets! That can be a serious "wrinkle"!

If the ad is legit - ask what tractor the hoe was mounted on previously.

I have a 49 that I will be selling if I can swing a deal on a 110!!!! Willl know more by the end of the month!!!! It is currently mounted on a 5225.

I've been looking for a used 595, but they are hard to come by it would seem, where the 49 is much more common.

The 49 is an older model backhoe - like the 48 - with a straight boom. The 595 has the curved "banana" boom.

The M series has the electro-hydraulic 3pt with twin, rear mounted lift cylinders. As such, the older mounting brackets for the 49 - 5000 series - might not match up.

I'd do lot's of research before I'd commit to that buy...

We have a 48 John Deere backhoe for sale, if you are still in the market for one or know of someone who is. Lightly used, new seat as the old one had some cracks in it. We adapted it to fit on a JD quick hitch so we could hook onto it with either tractor. Pioneer hydraulic couplers. Let me know if you would like some photos.

I did. It doesn't show enough of the tractor. I was more looking to see how much more it makes the hoe stick out over the standard mount because I think it would be a great idea if it didn't add to much length.
