I just picked up an old sears craftsman with 42 inch deck and replaced the fuel lines but gave to my brother to mow 1 acre. i could ask him if he wants to sell if you want. It was given to me by the original owner who bought it like 25 years ago but is only second hand

With regards to the farming thing... how is it you plan to start up ?
do you have land or other machinery?
only reason i ask is becouse it takes some MAJOR MONEY to start up farming to become big enof to live off of it. the only reason i am starting is becouse my dad will retire eventuenly and im not exactly starting from scratch.

On 10-20 acres? Lotsa luck.
What type of farming--row crops (vegetables, etc), strawberries, orchard crops (citrus, nuts, olives, etc)?

On a farm that size I would plant some Maryjane. Cash crop. PS watch out fer those feds.
I hope you mean a little side money, the only plant I know of that you could possibly enough money to grow on 10-20 acres is marijuana... and I wouldn't recommend trying that. :laughing::laughing:
Anyway.. we could really use some more details as too what your farming as it will tend to what tractor you need. And how many acres you really have as it too will depend on what you need.:thumbsup:

I just bought a JD670 and love it after 15hrs and three projects - moving rocks,fencing,and clearing dirt. My brother gave me some GREAT advise - try getting on and off from both sides moving the machine between each mount. You'll quickly figure out if the controls are poorly located or yor to big for the machine. Also think about your property and current buildings and access. I,m widening access next to the shed to six feet with a bigger tractor I would have to go to 8' or more. I have narrow trail on my forested property and the 670 will navigate just fine.
The trade off on size will be time (besides $) you may have to make 50% or more passes or trips to till, level land, move material ..... Visit with some locals and find out what they use their equipment for.
