I'm looking to purchase an electric pressure washer to keep the tractor clean instead of pulling out the my big gas washer. Just wondering if any of you have one and if you do, what brand and do you like it?
Karcher seems to be the brand sold everywhere, but in the Spring of 2007, I couldn't find anything about parts or service for that brand, so on 3/22/07, I bought a Husky 1800S from Home Depot. It worked, but not as much pressure as I'd prefer. Then, after about a year and a half (August 2008) it wouldn't dispense the detergent. But I contacted the company and was told how to fix it and I did fix it at no cost. But I decided I just was not going to use it enough to be worth it, so I gave it to a daughter and son-in-law a couple of years ago, and I don't think they've ever used it.
Kubota L4740 sold. As of Jan 2023 I have a new L2502.
Better not use it to much. Pressure washing is not always the best on equipment. Hard on rubbers seals, etc. Wash but wash with care. I undercoated and it seems to wash away the undercoat.
I have one, pressure switch sticks some times keeping it from turning on, not a big deal I can get to it in 5 minutes. It takes time to do heavy cleaning at 1500psi when compared to gas at 3000-3500. I dont know the brand but I bought at Lowes on sale under $100. For the price I would do it again.
I have an old Campbell Hausfeld that I bought at Wal-Mart years ago. I upgraded the hose and wand to heavy duty ones I bought at TSC. The on/off switch has worn out twice. The first time I replaced it with the same type that I could buy in numerous places. The last time the switch went out I couldn't find a replacement so I bypassed the switch so it is on all the time and bought a 15 amp remote control socket that I plug into the wall and plug the washer into it. I can then turn it on and off with the remote control in my pocket. It saves going back to the washer to turn it off every time I lay the wand down. I always loan my things out but I quit loaning my power washer to people to do their decks with. After I went through the second washer in just a few years I realized the electric ones just aren't made for that type of abuse. My guess it I have had this one for close to 15 years and it is great for washing cars, tractors and equipment. It quit working this winter and I decided to take it apart and see if it was something simple before I threw it away. I discovered the nozzle had gotten plugged. Poked a wire in it from the front side and it was good to go.
I bought Campbell hausfield, used it for a year, not very powerful, stopped running. I then purchased a Karcher/Honda. Have had it for +/- 6 years. Great unit. Philip.
Got the karcher unit that cost several hundred. Pretty weak I would not recommend an electric for other than really light duty use Not much better than a strong hose
I have one that Menards were closing out for $55. For the small jobs I wanted to do, it's worked fine. I don't think I use it more then 2-3 times a year. It's small and easy to store.
